So proud of my child, for choosing the NAVY. This will be a journey like no other. My child lives about 2 hours a way and we do not get much time together. So as boot camp is in a few months I am trying my best to cram in as much together time as I can get.

Why they live so far, was their chioce at age 13, sad time for me, yet I knew they needed dad time, too. Now that they are a teen, they want all the friend time they can get. Hard on me, I still see them as my 3 year old. Now all grown up and making life decisions.

I am new to blogging but I want to do this for me.

I know I will be learning as much in the next few months about Boot camp and things we are to do. I know my child is on same learning schedule.

When I found at they signed I was truly proud,as it sunk in, I cried, they will not be easily accessible. I will not be able to TM a quick I love you everyday and ask how their day is going.

My first question to recruiter was " Do you have enough bubble wrap to keep them safe?"

Looks like June is ship out....

Trying to get in as much mother/child togetherness as I can. We went to the Circus yesterday with our grandbaby and my childs best friend. I know they are almost 18, but we all had a blast. On way back from Circus listening to music Highway 20 Ride came on, could not stop flood of tears. Happened again today. I know NAVY is great choice, just wish I would still be able to talk, text, communicate with daily, while in Boot Camp.  It will get better I know, just the not being able to hear from them has me all anxious.

My babys' birthday this upcoming weekend, where did the time go? Eighteen and making adult decisions :). Not a lot of tears at present, I know as ship out date gets closer they are going to flood.

I took a week off work before my son left for bootcamp! We had a blast!  We went to see The Lion King at our favorite movies. It was in 3D!

Birthday dinner this past Sunday with my recruit and 3 of his friends O M Goodness it was so much fun. Planning so much to do together before June. Getting closer, whew, can not believe he is 18. Tears come so easily now, thinking how quickly 18 years fly by. So proud.

Been awhile since I have posted. I know as time draws near I will be on more often. Went to my sons LAST high school indoor drum competition this past weekend, they ended on a great note 1st place. So awesome :). He has grown so much since he signed with the recruiter. Not a little boy anymore, he is acting like a responsible adult. (tears, sniff sniff ). My heart wells with so much I am truly blessed.

Ok my sailor went with recruiter and was sworn in yesterday..... was to leave for GL today @5 .... bad weather in Chicago, he is not sitting in a hotel room with the same clothes on. Bless it. Will leave out tomorrow at 11:00 am. The tears keep coming, I am so proud of my sailor.

There is good news with that bad news; his pay began from the time he was sworn in yesterday. Hang in there.

BTW, you now have a recruit or an SR. You won't have a Sailor until he completes  Battle Stations-21 (BST) in the last week before PIR.
