I'd like to find other people whose loved one is in the same Ship and Division as my son. I can't figure out how to do it! I'm new to the site and would appreciate any help. Thank you in advance!

What division is he in?  Check http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/groups-listed-by-pir-date and join the group for his PIR date.  We know that the August 24 PIR group includes at least Divisions 261-268 and 941.  FTLW is working to get the 08/31/2012 group going since they are starting to get the form letter and you will see info on that in Boot Camp Mom's.  You may also wish to join PIR Reference Information and New Members Stop Here.

Brother divisions are an odd numbered division and the even numbered division that follows it.  900 and 800 divisions often do not have a brother division unless there are 2 or more 900 or 800 divisions in a TG.  Brother divisions train together and will have Battle Stations-21 together, so look for others with loved ones in either of the divisions if your SR's division has a brother division.

Thank you! This was very helpful. He is in Division 272. I think his PIR date will be Aug. 31, but we haven't received the form letter or box yet. I appreciate your help!

Yes, Division 272 willl have PIR on August 31.  Divisions 271 and 272 are brother divisions. The box and then the form letter should be coming soon.

Thank you! I received the box yesterday afternoon and we're checking the mail for the letter today. You've been a big help!

No, you cannot see your recruit/Sailor prior to PIR. Your Sailor may fly out of O'Hare or Midway. Know that Sailors flying to the same A School may be on different flights or even fly from different airports due to flight availability issues. Your Sailor will know her flight arrangements when she meets you following PIR. You can send her a note card about a week before PIR so that she can write down the details for you and put that in her pocket and give to you.

Join the group, PIR 08/03/2012 TG 38 — 11 Divisions (231–240 & 938), to connect with others with loved ones training with your SR. There is a discussion for her division within the group. Know that divisions 237 and 238 are brother divisions and train together and will have Battle Stations-21 together, so look for others with loved ones in either division. You may also wish to join, or at least check out, are Boot Camp Mom's, PIR Reference Information and New Members Stop Here. I see you have joined Parents of A School Sailors in Pensacola; what will her rating (job) be?
