My daughter left today for BC. I miss her already. Can't wait to get my call tonight.
Anyone else leave today?

Join the group, DEP-Leavin for bootcamp in July, to connect with others with loved ones who left today and may have PIR together.

You may want to join, or at least check out, Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones), PIR Reference Information, and New Members Stop Here. Once you know your SR’s PIR date and/or division number, watch in Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and/or at http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/groups-listed-by-pir-date and join the group for that once it has been created. There will be a lot of great information and support for you in those groups. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) and Discussions within the groups. Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what is happening, but you will also want to check out the other Pages in all of the groups.

Hi- My son is supposed to ship on October 28th, but he is signing another contract for EOD (which scares me to death) and the date may change. I saw your post and just wanted to say hi and that I hope that you will find that the days until graduation fly by. I have not been on the site for a few weeks. I love reading all of the entries but I usually end up crying! Haha! I am enjoying his time before he leaves and , I guess, am a little in denial about the whole thing! Anyway, stay strong! When you write to your daughter please tell her thanks for serving our country!

My son left today. Got our call about half an hour ago. He sounded strange. Hope it's just because they were watching him make the call.

Omg! Hello, my daughter made the call last night, also. She sounded strange to me. While she was at the airport she was upbeat and excited. Then, when she made her final call at BC, around 1:30 am, she sounded upset. I was wondering if she was just tired or because they were watching? It sounded like she was reading off a script.

Velitia, she was rushed and was also probably tired when she made the call. The "I'm here!" call is scripted in that the recruits are told what to say although they are not reading it.  Arrival and What Happens at the RTC and Phone Cards and Phone Calls within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will give you more information on that. I invite you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and to check out the other Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) as well.

We got the form letter today! His writing is so much neater! He is in ship 009 div 357. PIR is 9/20. We are already making our hotel reservations! So glad I can start sending his letters.
