Yes, you can write her, just don't mail the letters until you get the form letter later this week. See  Letter Writing & Fun Stuff/Questionnaires to send to your Recruit within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). I invtie you to join , Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and to check out the other Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) as well.

Reasons to wait: 1) The RTC asks you to wait on the form letter before sending letters. 2) The recruiter may not have given you the correct address and if the address is wrong mail will be returned to you or delayed for several weeks. 3) Even if the address is correct, your recruit will not receive mail until 1-3 or 1-4 DOT, which will be at the end of this week or early next week and is just sitting there waiting for that first Mail Call.

How long till I receive the form letter. I received her box Monday

Comment by lemonelephant on August 14, 2013 at 9:12pm

Cassie's mom, it is common to receive the form letter a week after "the box", but 10 days after arrival is the average time to receive the form letter. See Arrival and What Happens at the RTC.

It has been almost 2 weeks and I have not received any form or letter form my daughter.  I am missing her sooo much.  I know a lot of you are in the same situation nut I think I am going crazy.

If you don't have the form letter on Wednesday, then go ahead and send a letter then. See Letter Writing & Fun Stuff/Questionnaires to send to your Recruit and double-check the address agnst those at http://bootcamp.navy.mil/contact_recruit.asp or Ship/Division--How it Works.

I received my form letter.  I guess I just need to increase my patience.  Thank you

You are very welcome. Join the group, PIR 10/11/2013 TG 48 (clickable link), to connect with others with loved ones training with your SR.  Divisions 379 and 380 are brother divisions and train together and will have Battle Stations-21 together, so look for others with loved ones in either division.  There will later be a discussion within that group for the two divisions.
