My son leaves for Boot Camp tomorrow.  I am soooo not ready for this.  He has been doing laundry, errands and even cleaned his room.  Nesting.....

We will have dinner with him tonight, then I'll toss and turn.  I know I won't be sleeping tonight.  I'm so proud of him.   I miss him already.

You may wish to join, or at least check out, Boot Camp Mom's, PIR Reference Information, and New Members Stop Here.  There will be a lot of information and support for you in those groups for this part of your journey.  Once you know your SR's division number and/or PIR date, watch in Boot Camp Mom's for information about the PIR group and/or go to http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/groups-listed-by-pir-date and join the group to connect with others with loved ones training with your SR.

Mine left on Sept 4 (yesterday).  Whirlwind of emotions.  Received his call at 9:00 pm that he was there (while someone standing over him).  Cannot wait to receive his first letter and call.  Good Luck to you.  We moms have to stick together.  Still teary eyed today, but am getting better.  Work is helping.  He is my youngest.  Thinking of you.

Thanks for your wishes. Just hugged him goodbye. I guess I will see him in SD later for the last time before graduation.

Wow that was fast. I finally got the call at 10:45 last night. Wow a whole 1 min call. Went something like this "love you I have 1 min so don't talk just listen". His recruter just emailed me his address this morning, so I'll be writting him today. This has been such a bad week for us. My father passed Sun and my son left on Wed.
Thanks for your talks it does make it easier.

Joey's mom, be sure to double-check the address the recruiter gave you against those at http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/contact_recruit.asp.  Recruiters sometimes give a generic address for the RTC. If the street address is not correct, it can delay mail to your recruit for up to 3 weeks.

I'll do it now, thanks
