Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

So sorry for the pain you and your son are feeling. My son left a week ago and had a hard time as well, mainly due to leaving his girlfriend. My prayers are with you and your son. What strength he displayed getting on the plane, even though he was so upset about leaving. He will do great mom. They will take good care of him, and keep his mind occupied. :)

My son went the same day as yours and was also an emotional wreck!! I, too, questioned if he would actually go....his 6'4" body was crying all over my shoulder. His box came today but I wasn't home!! Will re deliver tomorrow, cannot wait. Hugs your way!!

I got his box today! I have read other mom's posts saying it makes them feel better to get the box but for me it made it more permanent. He is staying in Great Lakes after boot camp for his schooling. I'm simply not ready for my baby to be a grown man so far from home.

I am stalking the Fedx guy, nothing yet, I was in town and saw the poor guy, ran up to him and asked if he had anything for me..well in a town of this size, believe me everyone knows. Answer..nope, nothing. I walked back to my truck hanging my head. This is not like me...my son didn't live with me for the last 2 years! I am a strong independent woman with a busy job and his leaving has been all consuming. I think it is the not knowing that is the worst part, is he doing alright, how is he feeling, is he making friends. I don't even care if he calls, a text message saying..Hi mom..I'm good..then I will relax.

A couple of my son's buddies came by to visit me last night. That was a very nice surprise! I always had extras that kept my home hopping so when my son left it got way too quiet around here. Their visit helped to feel some normalcy for a minute.

Awwww im sorry, I cleaned my sons room and lay on his bed and cry then my 7 yr old twins start crying asking when brother is coming home.... I feel like such a wimp... The day I got his phone back I started sending him tex, I guess it almost makes me feel like im talking to him. He left July 14th and still no form letter :( I guess Ill continue to stalk the mailman.. lol

Hi there! My name is Tracey and our son arrived to boot camp also 7/29! We just received his box of items 8/4 in CA. but there was no letter and no ship/division number. Have any of you received this info for this group yet? Our daughter did this two yrs back so we've got some prior experience
But I thought her box had the address.

AOMomma his recruiter is ZERO help. I have text him twice. Are the recruiters suppose to answer your questions once (kids) ship out? Hi Traceykj Our first letter came 16 days after my son left. That letter had all his info on it so we could write to him. Now 22 days in and still no form letter. Just playing the waiting game.

My son left from Idaho on the 29th and we got the box on Tuesday. I'm still pretty emotional and can't wait to hear from him and get the letter
