For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Survived the first night

I had no idea how hard this was going to be. We took our son to the recruiters office yesterday morning. He did manage to give me a call last night from the hotel. This morning he will be officially swearing in and off to the Chicago. I know in my head this is a wonderful journey we are on . He is living his dream but my heart is so sad. I hope he gets a chance to call me while traveling today. Waiting for the scripted call tonight.

Comment by Navy mom 49 on April 23, 2014 at 4:32pm: Linda I know its hard! I cried the whole day he left.. then when the "box" comes I cried all that day as I washed his clothes.. lol. It does get easier. My son is in his 4th week.. Take care and keep on this sight it really helps!!

Comment by tromar66 on April 25, 2014 at 9:47pm: Linda my son also left on April 22nd. I cried for 3 day. Yes it did sound like he was reading from a script when he called. I miss talking to him. this is so hard for me but everyone keeps telling me to let him grow up. Very hard!! I will probably start crying again when I receive his stuff in the mail. I'm glad I found this web site. I'm not the only one who feels this way. So graduation will be either the 17th or 24th of June???

Comment by Linda on April 27, 2014 at 8:49am: I'm thought they graduate on Fridays so I'm guessing it will be June 20 or 27th. We will get the official date on the form letter. I hope it is the earlier date. One happy Friday down. Brody has a younger brother who still lives at home. It does help to still have activity in the house. We live in Melbourne Florida on the east coast. Close to where the shuttle used to take off Where are you from?

I have his brother at home too. I have been getting letters but no phone calls for over two wks. I think my next call will be I am a sailor call!. He is in 5th wk.

Comment by tromar66 on April 27, 2014 at 12:05pm: I am from New York. I have a a daughter that just had our first grandchild also last. week. And I have another son that still lives home. But James is my first born and has always been very close to me. My younger brother and sister-in-law where also in the Navy and they said no news is good new!! But it is still hard not knowing what is happening to him. After boot camp my son will go to Groton Conn. which is a ferry boat away so that will be great for me. I will be outside the gates waving.. It is getting easier now but I'm sure when the box comes the water works will start again. Hope everyone else is doing well??

After boot camp Brody will also be going to Groton. He is going to be a machinist mate. I miss him so much. The dog misses him too. She keeps looking for him and going to his room.

After Groton he is suppose to go to Georgia and then to Washington State. I heard we will be getting a package in about 2 weeks with his graduation info.Cant wait for my 2 minut call. glad i found this web site
