I suppose that I had no way to know how this would feel but wow..... I have no words! My son leaves on 1/26 and so now begins a week of goodbyes and last minute prep. I'm not sure if it's more draining to keep a smile on my face, keep him from being impacted by everyone's tears and emotions or simply worry about the days that lay ahead. I have decided this morning to just pray.......

I used a lot of extra effort trying to keep my game face on for my son. It was really tough holding back my urge to sob hysterically when we hugged our final goodbye, I will never forget the feeling of that hug....usually my sons only hug me haphazardly as a courtesy and they are quick to shrug me off, but that last hug he held on so tight and squeezed me- no words were necessary We both felt it - I knew he didn't want to let go and neither did I.  My tears get less every day even though I miss him just the same. Thursday will be rough because it is his birthday and the first one away from us. Everyone tells me just let the tears roll, its funny how  a small reminder can just make the tears swell up. I have never felt such contrasting emotions joy and pride, sadness and worry all together. I find comfort in N4M and all the common emotions and updates. So glad for everyone here.
