OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Follow this link for OPSEC Guidelines:

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Specific information on this policy change will be provided in the coming days and weeks.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your support.

RTC Graduation

**UPDATE 6/23/2022 - MASK MANDATE IS LIFTED -  Vaccinations still required

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

My son's PIR is Nov. 21, day before Thanksgiving. We are hoping that he will get liberty so we can visit a few days with him. His A school will be at Great Lakes also. He is Ship 12 Div 010. Anyone else know? We will be traveling from PA.

Join the group, PIR 11/21/2012 TG 2 – 11 Divisions (009-018 & 902), to connect with others with loved ones training with your SR.  Know that Divisions 009 and 010 are brother divisions and train together and will have Battle Stations-21 together, so look for others with loved ones in either division.  There is a discussion within that group for the two divisions.

You may also want to join, or at least check out, Boot Camp Moms, PIR Reference Information, and New Members Stop Here.

Since he is staying in GL for  "A" School, he will call you on Wednesday after he checks in at the TSC, which takes about 3-5 hours, and will have Liberty until Liberty expires that night at 10, but you must drop him off about 30 minutes before to give him time to get to his barracks. Then he will have daytime Liberty (pick up 6:30 or 7 am and drop off 9:30 pm or so) each day of the 4 day weekend.  Plan to arrive at GL on Tuesday and go to Sarge's Meet and Greet (PIR 11/02/2012 SARGE'S MEET AND GREET) and maybe part of the PIR 11/21/2012 Ramada Meet and Greet that evening and plan to leave late Sunday or on Monday to give you the most time with your Sailor.

Here are 2 other groups you will want to check out: Great Lakes A School Q&A and GL A-school moms.  You may also want to check out the Training Support Center (TSC) Great Lakes Facebook Page.

What will his rating (job) be? There are also groups for many of the ratings.
