I finally received the "form" in the mail, can i just say how wonderful it was just to my sons handwriting on the front of the letter!!!! Not to mention I finally have an address!!! I opened it up and just read everything from front to back and to my surprise on the very back page He wrote a note to me telling me he missed and loved me so much, he thanked me for everything and then said dont worry I'm fine!!  He said he missed being home and couldnt wait to see us!!!!! I finally cried for the first time in a week in a half over happiness!!!!!!!! I cant believe that those couple of sentences have put my heart to some easy. Every one told me the form was nothing, but because of my son reaching out that form was everything to me!!!!!!!!!! I just hope more mothers who are going through this also found something special from their son or daughter!!

I completely understand just seeing his writing.  I held the letter and just cried. I think I'm only a week ahead of you.  We got one more letter since the form letter.  I'm hoping for the first call by weeks end. I can't wait to hear from our son!  All the best to you!

When I got my son's two-line message, I did not cry.  "Boot camp is not much fun so far.  It's better than the first few days, but I don't get much time to sleep or poop."  A message like that brings laughter, not tears.  I missed him, but knew he was doing OK.  Boot camp is a fairly short time.  After that, they can have regular contact, as time allows.  All is well.
