The memories keep coming, My son is in bootcamp and I think I have relived his entire life so far. I have come to the conclusion that I did the best I could. I have a fine young man and we have a close relationship. He knows he is loved and I know he loves his momma.

When he was in 3rd grade, he loved blonde jokes, I explained a blonde could be male or female and he said he understood that. (doing the best I can) so I would get on the internet for him and find jokes that were appropriate for his age. He attended Catholic school his entire life and one day he told his teacher a blonde joke. He told me she laughed, but said "Austin I don't think your mom would like you telling that kind of joke, to which Austin replied "Oh no! It's ok, she looks them up for me."

I probably won't get voted mother of the year, but my kids might vote for me, so I'm cool with that!

You and your son also might like the top 10 list for lines sent home from boot camp. My son doesn't leave until the very end of August, but they have made me giggle and I have copied and pasted them so that I have them ready to put in letters to my son at boot camp...you can also google navy jokes and there are some great ones online...I think I would nominate you for mother of the year...being a parent is all about balance and establishing a relationship that included both discipline and friendship. Good luck in your journey.

love the toy idea, I will start keeping my eyes open now. Austin and I have always quoted funny lines from movies and songs to each other. Was once standing in the kitchen and he said " I love you like a fat boy loves cake." (its from a song) At night he would say to me " go to sleep crazy lady" So there are probably lots of things he will get a kick out of, thanks

I love blonde jokes. My son, Jeff does too. Mainly because his sister is "Truly the real blonde." He is on the USS Enterprise. When he was in boot cam I would constantly look for any kind of jokes to send him. Keep it up.
