For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Comment by tutorlady on June 19, 2017 at 11:08am: Many prayers going up for the family members and fellow sailors of those who lost their lives. My heart breaks for all of them. God bless our sailors and may God be especially near to the family members of those on the USS Fitzgerald!!!

Comment by Joni on June 19, 2017 at 11:38am: My son left out on Monday and as I told my husband last night, this is the worst fear any parent has for their son/daughters in the military. The youngest one lost was just 19 years old, properly one of his first stations properly after boot camp. Our prayers go out to the parents, wives, and girlfriends of these sailors.

I can't imagine the horror of the shipmates fighting so hard on damage control and then losing 7 of their comrades. Prayers for their loved ones and their shipmates and the Captain in dealing with this accident that happened on his watch. May they all feel the Lord's presence and be comforted.

Comment by anasazigypsy on June 19, 2017 at 6:13pm: And if you can, please donate. Some sailors lost everything and may not have families who can help them replace their civilian clothes, or other non Navy issued items. Anti M on another post on this site suggests USING Japan.
My heart is broken for the families of the 7. Hopefully they can find peace in knowing we all share their grief.

It has been suggested that sending a donation to the agencies who are providing comfort and necessities on the ground may be the best course of action. Molly does a great job, but so do the families and sailors who are volunteering in Yokosuka. The $14 spent on postage may be better used in the hands of the volunteers.

I can't begin to imagine what they are feeling. My son is in the same fleet as the USS Fitzgerald. I pray The Lord wraps them all in His arms and comforts them as only He can.
