Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hoping you've heard from your recruits and everything is going great for them. I'm waiting to get the letter and box so I can mail the letters I've been writing. My son left on 4/6 and I got the call at 01:23 on 4/7 so I imagine his 8 weeks may have just started yesterday. I'm anxiously waiting to hear something....anything!
You ladies are such a blessing to me and I am so thankful for the connection. Everyone at MEPS on ship day was so kind and included us in as much as they could. The Navy has already made us part of their family!

It's been a week today - just feels like a month :) I missed the box yesterday but left a note for them this morning. Sure hope they leave it. Praying I get the letter today because I have mail ready to go - just need the address. Thinking about sending it priority so it might have a chance of being there for the first mail call. Started reading the book - Honor, Courage, Commitment, Navy Boot Camp last night. Couldn't put it down. Great insight into what they are doing and feeling. Haven't gotten a call and from what I read on this site that is a good thing! Hope all other new moms are feeling a little better this week too? I feel connected and thankful for the camaraderie!

MommaShep, I'm sorry you missed "the box". It should be there today. The form letter arrives an average of 10 days after arrival by regular mail, but it can be sooner or later. That is a good book--I haven't read it in a while, but I remember how good it was.

My son arrived at BC on 4/4. One week ago today. Seems like forever ago. But I'm sure he's doing fine. I haven't received his box yet either. Can't wait to get his address to start sending letters. Hopefully soon!
