My son has been gone for two weeks yesterday. I know what you are going through. Although I don't cry every other minute anymore, I miss him terribly. You will receive the box within a week. Mine came in four days. The form letter will come within 7-10 days. That is a beautiful thing because you will see your SR's handwriting. Hang in there. We are all on this journey together. Another mom friend often says, "If my son can do Navy, I can do Navy mom". Hold your head up and be proud of the child you raised. You've got this.

Things WILL get easier : )!!  Just hang in there.  My son left 5 weeks ago.  My sadness has turned into such a feeling of joy and I am soooo proud of him.  I have gotten one phone call for about 2 minutes but the letters I have gotten are awesome.  He really does appreciate all the things we have done for him : )!!  This site will help you a bunch.  Count down the days....believe me....they are flying by!!

Well, my baby DEPPER, will be PIR on Sept1st. My eldest is Air Force and My middle guy is Army! :) You will be just fine. Even though sometimes it may feel like you are missing a limb that used to be there, the ache will subside and the memory will take over.

I adjusted by keeping their door closed and at night I would pretend that they had already bedded down and would say , "Good night, blah-blah-blah!" It actually made it a little easier.
