Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

UBER gouging military at Great Lakes
My boot camp graduate used his Dad's UBER account twice recently when other transportation wasn't available. Both times, he was charged a premium rate. Premium rates are supposed to be limited to times when there is high demand, which was not the case. This seems unethical and unfair to young men and women on limited incomes.

I would hope they're not gouging, but my son had a similar situation this past Friday. He is at A School in our hometown and wanted to go with another Navy buddy to the mall to meet up with his friends. My husband and I were at work and he didn't want to bother us since we're actually 40 minutes from where he is. Anyway, he was going to Uber, but then realized that he was going to be charged $60 for a one way trip to the mall and that is outrageous. From the base to that particular mall it is 18 miles and he just needed the ride for one way since his friends were bringing him and his buddy back to the base. I truly feel that there is gouging going on and that's ashame. I'm glad my son didn't use the Uber and waited for his Aunt to take him and drop him off.
