For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Upcoming Graduation
We are preparing for the trip to Goose Creek for the final graduation ceremony (he did boot camp in Chicago) in a couple of weeks to see bonus-son before his next assignment, and of course to celebrate his achievements! We are very proud of him, and Nuc school has been a welcome challenge for him - he has worked very hard, as his mates have as well! He has made many new friends and he's maturing into a quit the young man!
For now, looking over this board and reviewing as much info as I can take in - so much out there! Searching more specifically for a schedule of the graduation events (time, place, etc) and places to stay and maybe a little site-seeing if there is time and opportunity.
I see other mom's from my area also registered - HI! I mainly registered to help out hubby and help keep his family in the loop of what the latest news is (I'm the overall support system).

My son will be going to A school in SC also. We are going to drive down to see him if we can after he arrives. His PIR is april 15th then he flys to goose creek but school doesnt start till 4/24/11 so were hoping we can take him to dinner and visit for few. How did you sailor like A school there. Did you visit during that time. Kathy

Kathy, the classes seem to be challenging and all they have time for is studying to pass. We have not been to GC yet, but will Easter weekend when he graduates.

We will be there at that time also. Not sure how much time with be spent with our son, but at least we will see myrtle beach we are hoping to be able to take him to dinner. We are driving down there to take his computer and some personal belongings. Have a great time visiting over Easter weekend and let me know how graduation from A school goes.
