Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

Vehicles and sailors
I have a question. My daughter is in Norfolk and she purchased a car there. It's titled there, but her permanent address is with me in Wisconsin. Since she has it titled there, she cannot be on our auto insurance. How can she transfer that car to Wisconsin, her permanent address, so that she can be back on our auto insurance? And will she have to get new plates that show Wisconsin and not Virginia? I figured I would ask you all before I called the DMV to inquire. Thanks!

I don't know about the transfer of title part but in order to be on your insurance she will more than likely need to be a "member of your household" and that is based on the insurance companies definition. If she is deemed to be a member, your name will need to be on the title in order for it to be put on your insurance. I would call the DMV about the transfer and double check with your insurance agent. I'm a licensed agent in MN and ND so I would think things would be similar.

Thank you Ann! I will contact our insurance which is Progressive and see. I know she won't care if I'm on the title or not; I have POA on all of her "stuff" anyway.

My son wants me to send him his Jeep to Northfolk but I'm having the other side tge tile of the jeep is under my name and I'm not sure if I can send it to him without a problem., its not easy to do the right thing for our kids.

My son's car is on my insurance (Progressive), that is only because he was living with us when we added him. While he is away, I kept the car insured, but had his status changed to an unauthorized driver. It did lower my rate by $400 for the year.

Old discussion, i realize, but i have been away lately.
If she has any accounts with USAA, you might want her to just check into how much insurance is through them. Both our navy kids found getting car insurance through USAA was comparable to the pricing they (we) had through our insurance, even with the discounts we have cuz of also having house & multiple cars. If you pay for her insurance, you still could.
