Well 15 seconds does mean a lot today. I got up this morning expecting a phone call from my daughter from Boot Camp. I lost 15 seconds not thinking nothing of it myself today. But never knew 15 seconds would mean so much. My daughter ran her PFA today. She had to call to say i failed it mom and told me she missed it by 15 seconds. So upset but trying to be strong. Said she may get a chance tomorrow to try one last time. That was around lunch. Then called tonight and had to read something to me. It went like I am making this call to inform you i failed and will not graduate on my scheduled date. Do not come to the base unless notified otherwise. I feel so helpless. All i could say it's ok. You will make it. And I love you and If you get another chance you can do this just focus & block everything and everybody out. She also had to give me a new Ship & Div. & Address. Who would of thought it would of came down to 15 seconds meaning so much today. God Bless her and everyone at Boot Camp and help them thru. Bless you and your family.

I so sorry, I know this must be heartbreaking to you and your daughter but have faith. The Navy has made an investment in your daughter at this stage they want her to graduate and will work with her to make that run. Don't know if it will make you feel any better but I have read of recruits failing as a result of 10 seconds or less but...they did make it on another run. Hang in there and sent her a note of how proud we are of her efforts!

Wow! Who knew 15 seconds could be so huge? Keep looking forward and stay positive. She will get all the help possible... the Navy wants her to succeed. We're all proud of her efforts and I'll keep her in my prayers, too.

They are in my prayers. They will be worn out, tired, and hungry tomorrow, but it will be over!

NavyGirlsMom, your recruit will be fine. The RDCs will make sure of that. Don't get discouraged, or alllow her to, Let her know about the the other mothers out here pulling for her!

She'll make it...PIR will happen for her (and you)...and the weather up there will be warmer then! :-) My son's 2nd division (after he was set back) had 5 sent back when time for battlestaions because they hadn't passed the swim test. He felt bad for them, but knew they would eventually get it. The Navy strives on "challenges" and turning them into successes...your daughter's run will be one of them. Keep the faith!

She will be a Sailor SOON! Good for her to make her time in the run! She is in the "final sprint" now towards becoming that sailor. Post here when you get "the call!" We are praying for her and the others!

A 16 hour drive but worth every second of it. She has grown up so much. She was very tired. We spent the whole weekend together. Met some of her friends and their moms. Some from Navy for Moms. It was so good putting faces to names. She went back to base early Sunday to get settled in and start A-School there in IL. for 14 weeks. I am so proud of her and all our Sailors and the Sailors to be.
