Emma, that was a little abrupt and harsh.
samiam, generally orders come through about 2 weeks before graduation which I realize isn't much help yet since you don't know his graduation date. Unless he graduates at the top of his class, he will have little or no say in where he gets sent to, and I don't know if they are currently able to have a "wish" list. What you can do is contact your local Fleet and Family Services Center and ask their advice on how to be most prepared for your first move - http://www.cnic.navy.mil/CNIC_HQ_Site/WhatWeDo/FleetAndFamilyReadin... will help you find it, and then http://www.cnic.navy.mil/CNIC_HQ_Site/WhatWeDo/FleetandFamilyReadin... will give you some idea of the support they offer.
Although you don't have a date, it never hurts to be prepared!
And then I guess you could start packing some of your stuff, or at least sorting it out! :)
They do fill out the dream sheet, it is required. Do they get what they ask for? Not often, unless a billet opens up at precisely the same time their orders are issued. The top of the class thing doesn't apply to every school, and even then, if there's not billet (job) there's no set of orders for that location. As for when orders roll in, there's more than one factor (timing), there's also budget, time of year, what the sub fleet needs. No one can give him a concrete date because that isn't how it works.
Have you found the group here for sub school? They might have a general idea of how things are going.
Best thing to do is prepare for a move (toss, sell or donate everything you don't need, declutter). No sense in getting desperate, because that won't hurry up anything at all, except a rise in your blood pressure.
Best of luck.
(Now that I've said everything Emma said so succinctly) .
And if you're going to use Navy movers, do NOT pack. They have to unpack everything and pack it themselves, for insurance purposes. Just get stuff sorted and start a file to keep with you of important documents. Inventory your belongings.
best place to get the information is from your husband I'm sure he will tell ya when he get his orders.........
