As many of us in America have been affected by the economic crisis. My older daughter graduated from college with a big deb and us barely making it. My little one was the most affected. She slept in friends homes and my husband was struggling finding a job while living at my sister little apartment. Finally he moved to live with his sick mother and I went to do volunteer work in order to have a room and food. While my little one worked as a food server in a restaurant. She managed to get herself into a room with my older daughter. I asked my daughter why do you want to join the NAVY..

I felt stupid I asked that question! She just said... I need to get an education and don't want to see myself like my sis in a big deb. I felt helpless I was not able to provide with the basics!

You see we thought we had it all back then, good jobs... my husband worked as a stock broker and I was running my design little place. We thought we have a good future. Suddenly his 401k was wiped out his company ended up with 2 employees. The people I worked with disappeared and lost their homes.

The answer could not be more clear... I realized that now and cry.

Amen to that. Coach. Taliagross..thanks for sharing. We all want our children to have it better than we do but I am afraid that is not going to happen. Life sure has a way of throwing curveballs at us.

Thanks for your comment SW..   I really believe in her and I have hope in my heart that we together can have a better future for the sake of my daughter and the new generation.  Those throwing balls made me realize what really matters in life...
