My son got his wings in May 2011 in Pensacola. I was at a loss as to what gift to give an officer who just got his wings. I am glad that I found this site because the gift ideas were quite helpful, especially the winging set from Larry Cleveringa. The beautiful cherry framed set includes follow on aircraft, pictures of 2 other aircraft they have flown, 1 set pilot wings, and custom engraving (information about your pilot). The craftsmenship and care put into this set is evident when you see the finished product. I was also very impressed not only with the quality of his work, but also customer service, turn around time for the product and he is very reliable and always 2 steps ahead of you. If interested in preserving your pilots memories of this special occasion please check out his site "militarymemoriesinc.com". You can also email him at milmeminc1@wmconnect.com. He also has additional items available for your viewing. Thank you for this site and to all that read it.

Thank you for your congrats. I'm new to the blogging and I hope this message gets to you Proud AV Mom. I cried when I read your comments about your son when he left home, the bitter/sweet moments. I think we should all be so proud of our young men and women that decide to serve our great country, it's an honor to have kids that feel in their hearts the call to duty. Please thank your son for me for his service, and thank you for raising such an honorable young man.

Thank you hobbitmom for your kind words, they truly mean a lot! and thank your son for us for his service! It seems as they grow, the time just slips away from you, the next thing you know, you're watching them swear in to be a part of something great! I am so very proud and can't wait to see him. 1 week down, 7 to go!
