Wendy,

Sorry for answering now about a month later! Life has just taken over. I work two jobs and today marks my 25th day straight of working. Frank graduated 8/3 and it was awesome. He is now in Groton, CT for sub school and the communication is so much better. I am going out to visit him this coming weekend for my birthday and Labor Day. Has your son left GL yet? I am so sorry that he did not graduate with his division. That must be frustrating.

Your son graduates tomorrow! That is so exciting! Congratulations! This week sure has moved fast for me. I work two days next week and then we are off to GL on Wednesday the 1st. You'll have to fill me in on how PIR was for you! Have a great time and Congrats to your son and your family!

Hello! Sorry for such a late response! Life sure has been busy here and getting through this time. My boyfriend left June 6th and he is in Ship 13 Div 236. He has sent home 6 letters and seems to be doing well. We got one phone call on June 28th and it was very good to hear from him. He wrote in his last letter than he is a part of designing the division flag and was able to use his artistic ability! How is your SR doing? Only 15 days to go! :-)

I'm still trying to figure this thing out! :)  I will ask Eddie, too!  I know he's going to be so excited that I've met someone from his ship and division!  I was worried about me- because I just lost it when he left!  I couldn't believe how upset I was- :)  I felt bad- tried not to cry....and then I would just bawl like a big ol' baby!!!

I have not received his address yet. He left on June 6th and we live in upstate NY so it might take a little longer. If I don't receive anything in the mail within a day or two I will call his recruiter to see if I can get the address. I am very inpatient! LOL

I had to make a decision on car repair today, and started to cry. I am keeping busy with housework, and knitting. My boy had texted me the flight info, and I have to admit that I used the flight tracker to see where he was. How sad is that! I also briefly lost my phone (don't remember if I told you that), and fell apart as if it was the most important thing in the world. Sobbed! I panicked that he would not be able to call me, and that the last pictures and text message would be lost. I did find the phone though, fortunately. My son called just before he got off the plane, and then the serious call about 10:30. I too am waiting for the box.

I had the laundry last week. I did more laundry for him than I have done in a long time. Then I had him sort it with what he wanted to get rid of and what he wanted to keep. He has his cell on the trip up, and he called a wee bit ago to tell me they had landed. He had not gotten off the plane and got in an "Unofficial call". Smart thinking. Lots of tears from me today though. Hope you have a good evening.

Thank you for inviting me as a friend. I have thought about not going, because it's going to be tough, but I'm only 40 minutes away from the airport. It's hard to believe how fast time has gone. The closer it gets the more nervous I get. I had a really hard time with this, to the point that I was put on meds and went to talk to a therapist. But I have really gotten better with it. This site was my theraphy. I should have came to this site first and saved my money.LOL. This site is addicting but a good addiction. My son has a friend who also is leaving the same time. They both went to MEPS together the first time. They both have been in school together since first grade. When I found that he also was going I was totally shock as well when my son told me he wanted to go You never know what life will be us.They change us when they are born and mold us into parents and now they take us on a whole new journey. I'm excited, but will miss him so much.I was his preschool teacher to his bus driver till the end of this school year except he's been driving for the last 2 years. I quit my job as a bus driver the last day for the seniors May 18. Now I need to find what I want to do next. I can't go into the Navy.LOL My son is happy about that. Mom will not be around now.

Hi Wendy, what is your son's job? My son will be an OS, he will also stay in Great Lakes for A school. Did your son graduate this year? Mine graduated last sunday. Will you be at the airport to see your son off? My husband & I will be there. I know it's going to be tough keeping it together, I'm excited to meet other moms too. It's awesome how our kids are going to make new friends from all over.
