Hi Colleen, thanks for the welcome, I'm excited as well as a little concerned for my son, I heard how boot camp can be a little rough, my son is very strong we have been thru alot together, I guess i'm just over protected and he is my first to leave the house, I'm very proud of him and i'm very eager to see him soon to see how everything was, can't wait unitl graduation.
Thanks Colleen! I am very interested in keeping up with this site and seeing all that will be happening. My son has just joined up with the USS Higgins. He is career Navy. This is still another new experience for us as parents.
Thanks so much for all your info, your introduction and your welcome. I am completely new to this whole Navy, military thing although my third son graduated from the Coast Guard over two years ago. I'm not a big traveler and my husband is disabled so I'm a lttle nervous about this trip to Chicago for my second son's June 21st graudation , though I wouldn't miss it for the world.
Sorry it took so long feel like I am running around in a million directions trying to get everything taken care of before we leave and forces keep working against me. But all will be fine!
Anyway, Yes we are flying in. Our plane leaves the BIG city in the wee ours of the morning 0640, and we live way out in the country so we will have to wake the rooster up!! Lol I think we land bout 0900. Then we are staying until Sunday the 26th, our plane leaves at 0740. My husband likes to book them early!! Lol can't wait to meet y'all and thank you personally for all your help.
Thank you Colleen! I have been enjoying everyone's posts and have also found them VERY informative! Bless you all for taking the time to keep us new Navy moms up to speed with everything! I look forward to future posts from everyone! Congrats to you all and thank you for making me feel so welcome!

Thanks Colleen.. like so many of the other comments.. I'm a little overwhelmed and needing more information.. so thanks for your message and direction..
Thanks for the welcome Colleen! I hae not been too involved in posting on N4M since my daughter is not leaving for another 2 months and it doesn't really seem real yet. I wish people would stop asking me "What are you going to do if she calls you crying and wants to come home." Why don't people realize that that is not an option?!
Hi Colleen, thanks for the welcome! You're comments to me about where to look for information and what to expect were very helpful. I looking forward to getting to know you all a little better as we go through this journey. Thanks again!
