My Name is Windea. My daughter is 17, graduating a year early and wants to join the Navy. I'm terrified! I know a lot of it is me afraid to lose her but yet I'm concered also. What if she can't hack it? What if she calls me crying and wants to come home? We both know she can't. I don't know what to do and it's coming at me way too fast. I know it would be an excellent opportunity but yet I just have a bad feeling.

Hi Colleen,

Thank you for the comment on my new N4Ms profile regarding the specifics of our situation with our sailor.  I appreciate the heads up and know we will be doing things a little differently.  Your insights are greatly appreciated.

Thank you, Colleen!  I'm still trying to learn about this site, but am confident that I will find it to be very useful.  I really appreciate having this site available in order to communicate with other Navy moms that are going through the same thing that I am.  Thanks again and I look so forward to learning all I can about the Navy!

Thank you Colleen.  This site has been so helpful.  I appreciate being able to talk with the other family members who are going through this whole thing.  Somehow it makes me feel less lost.

Thanks, Colleen.  I am so glad I found this site.  My daughter goes to BC May 22.  She had not discussed being in the Navy with us.So , I have been reading everything I could get my hands on.  You and your other Navy moms have calmed me down and things are not quite such an unknown anymore.

I started to create two groups, but decided they were not needed.

The both start with Delete.

I am unable to find a way to delete them, can an administrator delete them, or is there some way I can do it ???

I have not heard from my daughter in a while. She is graduating bootcamp today. My understanding was she would have to order a video of her graduation herself, and I could not do it. Was I mistaken? Can I purchase the video or did she have to do it?

Thanks for the welcome.  As you can imagine there's so many questions and by chatting with your main room, I got some answers.  I'll be looking for more answers.

Hi this may sound stupid but I am having difficulty navigating the site. ? My stepson is enlisted, I think his rank is S5. Is it possible that once he finished his deployment and living on base that he was able to choose his current job (we are disappointed with the job he has). Also, he mentioned weeks ago that they offered him deployment on another ship and he declined, which we found this to be an unusual choice for the Navy. We are concerned about his mental state of mind and need help understanding.

Hey!  Some of the ladies on the PIR 03/01 group are saying that they had to wait a week or two in order to get approved on this site.  Does it normally take that long?  I'm one of the N4Moms veterans working with FTLW, Lala, ellen, Betsy, Craig, etc...in the PIR groups.  Any info you can give would be great!  Thanks!  Just so we know how to advise.

Hi Colleen,

I am new to the site and rather computer illiterate! I was trying to set up my profile and I understand that what my screen name is and that it cannot have my name or my son's name in it. But what is the "profile address"? And my email address has my name in it. How do I change that without changing the email address I have had for 15 years?? Sorry I am so ill versed in computer stuff. But I really want to try to be on this site for all the information and support it offers. Thank you for your help!
