Thank you for the warm welcome!  I've been kinda procrastinating in joining the group, cause that means my husband leaves soon.  But I figured I would have the support I needed, especially since he leaves next week.  I look forward in finding more moms/wives/family who has been where I am and will give me the advise I'm sure I will need! LOL

Thank you for the welcome.  I have been looking at the Navy for Moms site for a few months...it has been very helpful.  My son has been in bootcamp and has a PIR date of October 12.  Haven't heard too much from him lately but am going on the assumption that no news is good news.  He is the one who told me about Navy for Moms.

Thank you Colleen for the welcome!  I am sending my son his first care package a.k.a. food out today and got good info through the forum for newbies.  Will check out the OPSEC Video soon.  I just moved 9-1 so I am still unpacking and a "Newbie" in my area.  So glad I can communicate with my son via email and FB.  It's his first deployment so level headedness is key on both ends.  I look forward to the group as I am navigating.

On Thursday 11/20 I received my first letter from my daughter, I was so excited.... unfortunately it was not a letter, but it was great news....I received her graduation date which will be on 11/9/2012 :-) today I booked our flight and I'm so excited about seeing her and so is my entire family!! Thanks again for your welcome, I'm looking forward to getting more familiar with the site.

Hello my son left Wednesday morning from SD to Chicago. I am also a first time military mom. I am looking forward to meeting other parents and help support each other through these times.

Thank you for the welcome.  I am looking forward to navigating my way around the site and it's comforting to know I have a great support system from other Moms who have experienced what I am about to go through.  My son leaves for BC in February.

Hi My son also left yesterday... And I haven't received the call letting me know that he made it safe? Is there any reason why he couldn't have called?

Thanks for the Warm Welcome! I am a first time Military Mom. I came from Airforce family. My husband is ex Navy so that is helping a little on learning the Navy side of things. I look forward to getting to know the Navy Community and getting to know the mothers here.

My son left yesterday so the last couple days have been rough. But I know that the next 8 weeks will fly by. Looking forward to PIR.

Thanks again for the warm welcome!

Thanks.  My son will graduate from basic training on Friday, Sept. 28.  We are flying up on the 27th and look forward to seeing him for the lst time in 2 months!!!!  We've only talked with him once but have received many letters.  We know nothing about the Chicago area so we are anxious about the hotel, etc.

Thanks for the welcome.  Hope to figure out navigation of the site for more use.  My son is ship 03, div 338, PIR on 10/12/12. Looking forward to seeing the sights when we fly in.  Any suggestions of places to see would be greatly appreciated, as we have never been to Chicago area. L
