Posted on the 8/13 group for you. BStations 8 pm - 8 am -12 hrs long...they are up all night, obviously. Your "I'm a Sailor" call should come in the afternoon or evening tomorrow if they all get a chance to call. With so many divisions, they may not all get to. They cannot go to sleep until 8 pm...remember, they would have been up since around 6 am TODAY! So 38 hours awake! They become SAILORS in the morning...and trade their RECRUIT cap for a SAILOR cap in a ceremony. Great feeling for them...but they are truly exhausted. Given energy drinks and candy bars! HA! Lots of work to do too...Good luck!
i know he would understand but i would still feel bad. and it kills me because i dont know when i would have the chance to see him again. Its all guess work from here on out. He going to be an engineer of some sort. Hes not happy with his job at all but then again alot of people arent. there just no room in the navy to be choosy anymore. to many people are joining. What is your sons rate going to be?
Hi, I will be going. It's a few days before i fly out to see my baby girl graduate. I'm really excited to see the blue angel's, and the leap frog team perform.
How many phone calls have you recieved? I just got one the other day, she said that she only had two min. we ended up talking for twenty-seven min. It was the best day ever!
Tina
Hey, i finally got a letter! Lol, about five pages. Im trying very hard to go to graduation since he doesnt have anyone else going, but my class leader is telling me i probably wont get to take leave because of school. I could for the weekend, but then i would have to fly there late friday or early saturday and then fly back sunday night. Im not sure its going to work. :( Im glad you are going to be able to make it for your sailor.
Hello Jlo's mom,
Hey just wanted to share info. that i found. The Navy is going to be here in Boise Aug 20-29 ( i think that's the fair ) Leap frog which will be really exciting to see. check out events on the top of this page for more info.
Tina. Heather's very proud mom!!!
Good Morning jlo's mom,
Boy, i can totally relate to getting the "box" i thought that i had prepared myself for it.... NOT! I was coming back from checking the mail to see if i had recieved my first letter yet and there he was (the Fed Ex) guy standing there with "the box" I busted out in tears, i also, looked at it for a while before opening it, crazy i know, first thing i noticed was that her writing had changed (cried even more) first sign of my baby already changing. Opened it hoping to find a note? looked in every pocket, nothing. Anyways, Heather joined the Navy so that they could pay for her schooling, she had two years pre-med up at Uof I (10 to go)... She didn't want to be $100,000 in the hole when she got out of school. The job she chose to do in the Navy is, Aviation elect. Tech, hoping she will be on a carrier. We'll see what happens after boot camp? What about your son, what made him want to join the Navy and what will he be doing?
He will train in Logitics i meridian, MS after Boot Camp. How about yours? I think this was easier on me than some moms because my son had already gone off to college for a couple years.
Hi Jlo's mom,
I just recieved my "first" sign that my daughter is still kick'n. she sent me some info about graduation. Yeah!!! It took 10 days (LONG DAYS...)
She did go thru the recruiters across from Mt. View. (do you love our recruiters?) Heather went to Meridian Medical Arts High School, grad, in 08' she has been up at University of Idaho up in Moscow, the past two years. she went in the Navy as an E-3, cuz of her two years of college.
What an adorable picture of you and your son. How old is he? and what school did he graduate from? :D
