Hey Connie, that's wonderful! I hear that there's a great crew on the Sammy B! My son Garrett and I are both pleased that he was assigned to a smaller ship. Your sailor is blessed to have such a supportive Grandmother!
Hi Connie! Thanks for the email! I got my user name changed!! We do have ATT, I will do the messaging. The information you provided was very beneficial! I'm so glad I found this page!
You can contact the Photo Lab at Great Lakes at 847-578-6205 and let them know what has happened and see if they can help. We have been told that they only print up the number that are ordered PIR weekend or before, but it is worth a try.
That's great !!!! I hope he enjoys being a DC . I know my son likes it. I don't hear from him much he's been kept busy and stays in contact with his friends although every now and then he remembers he has a mama lol.
Hey there. My contact at A School talked to one of the mgrs there. He was wondering if you know for sure which Subway it was...there are a couple. Also, day/time your sailor was there and if he knew what the employee looked like. He just wants to make sure that the employee recognizes a giftcard next time. Just let me know if you get any more info from your new sailor! Congrats, by the way!
Haven't forgotten you. My contact at A School said that the card should have worked. The employee may not have realized it was a giftcard which is like cash---maybe thought it was a discount card. She is going to call Subway tomorrow and let them know there was a problem and to please make sure their employees know about the giftcards.
I'm sorry that didn't work for your Sailor. That's the first I've heard that a Subway card does not work on base. Others have sent cards and never mentioned a problem.
HI Connie. So nice to see a Grandmother representing :) We will not be up until Thursday evening, driving up from Cincinnati. Wish we could be up sooner to attend the Meet and Greets. Hopefully will be able to meet everyone when we are at the PIR. We should all wear N4M nametags, hahaha!
Thank you Connie, I am praying that everything works out for my daughter. She came home with a good attitude towards all that happened. And now she ready to try again. I told her she will have an advantage the next time, because she know how everything will go. I wish for great success for your SR in the Navy. If your on facebook, look me up Mary Valentine Jones.
I'm thinking everyone is going to be at Sarge's Meet and Greet. We may just end up going to that one. We thought about going to Flanagan's but we probably won't. We should meet up.
ConnieA, the letter was written over a period of a few days - or more appropriately nights - and while in good spirits my son was clearly tired. At the best of times I have difficulty reading his handwriting, but my husband had to decipher much of yesterday's letter, and some even he could not translate. That said, I wasn't clear if both 141 & 142 were involved in all of this, or even any of this! I have been concerned about the two divisions being able to work together due to some passing comments by my son and some other posts on this site, but I think they may have finally found their stride!
Will you be attending PIR? And way to go Grandma for jumping in like this!!!
They do not allow SRs to put "guests" on their lists that are not their own. Although some did this is the past, they have tightened up with that. Your SR could get in trouble for doing that.

Write in the info on the gate passes after you print.

Are you going to PIR? Have you decided which Meet and Greet you will attend?
Connie, your son is on Ship 14 Div 142 right? Wasn't sure if I was correct in thinking that.
