WOW a lot of kids are having to change :( I have not heard back from Tiff, so I have no clue what job she has as of now. She did say if she went with the one job, it would also have A school in Pensacola. I hope I get a letter from her this week letting me know what is going on!! Your sons new job sounds really interesting! Not that I really knew what the AECF was to begin with! hhahaha
Hello Sandy. I am Louann from Charlotte NC. My SR is 19 and is my only child. It has been very difficult for me to let him go. This past month has been a roller coaster ride of emotions. I hope we all get to meet at PIR. We are coming in on Thursday. Staying at the Red Carpet Inn near the base.
You know when we got the kid in a box? Well it had all of Tiff's papers in it, so tonight I went through them and where it had her job/rate, well she only had one picked and for alternates, she had none. So... maybe, like you said, since they didn't call back, she will be able to keep the same job... I hate not knowing what is going on... they call, then yell at her to just hang up and sit down... :( don't they remember when they were in bootcamp? Gosh!!! What DIV is Patsmom? Does she know they called me too? Maybe she and I should talk?
nice and has a free shuttle to graduation. It would also be wonderful to share our joy and pride of our young men, but we will do that no matter which hotels we are at! I haven't received any more letters (just one). P asked me if we were writing as he hadn't received many, I told him Dad and I take turns so that we send a letter each day to him. He'll probably receive several in one day. Oh well. Hope you and your family have a great holiday (and get a letter AND a phone call).
you can fax so I went to the place near Prodigal Son and it worked out. Then I sat down and had a mother-moment. When we talked on the phone P said don't worry, this is a good thing. I reminded P it was what I do, Icould worry for the both of us. He laughed at me. He sounded upbeat, but I'm never sure if he is just trying to protect me but he sounded genuinely (spelling?) positive and rolling with the flow. Does D know Austin D., he graduates today so sending good thoughts to him and his family as they celebrate. Soon it will be us getting a chance to hug our sons. I like your idea of the Ramada, it looks
When I saw the 847 area code yesterday, I almost had a heart attack in fear that he was calling with bad news of being separated or was in trouble. P said he had been pulled in and told AECF was overstaffed and that he needed to pick a new rate and is now a CTN and will going to Florida for A school. He also gave me a long list of items and information he needed faxed ASAP+ in connection to CTN. So I spent yesterday collecting those materials and got a 8 pg fax to him a few hours later, I'm glad I work at home. And then my fax machine wasn't cooperating so I had to figure out where in Pendleton y
PastorMom: Wow it is a small world. Where do you live now? In reference to the SpringHill Suites, I booked the one in Waukegan/Gurnee (there is also one in Lincolnshire). The one I booked at is only 5 miles away from base and we will be renting a car. We got a better deal calling in rather than booking online. Let me know if you get into that one and thanks for writing.
I sent you a message about ribbons. Send me your address to my message. I removed the comment you left because it had his last name on a page everyone can see. Talk soon :)
Congratulations to D for getting a fantastic run time! And how wonderful for you to get a phone call from him and hear his voice. Our SRs have been gone two weeks now - it feels like longer. I'm sure the first two days count double if not triple :) Have you made plans for PIR yet. We decided to drive to Great Lakes and stay at the Ramada Inn since they have a free PIR shuttle. P's sister will be flying in from Santa Cruz and meeting up with us there. Take care!
Are yall part of the Salvation Army?? Tiffany's boyfriends parents serve for the Salvation Army. It's funny, I don't know if we talked about this, maybe we did, these last two weeks are so muddled, but I was born in Orange, Tx... did I tell you?? hahaha i can't remember anymore. My family moved to Houston when I was just a babe but I bet I could take you back to where I lived in Orange... Right off the freeway, Maxwell Street LOL I only know this because I got the Whoopin of my life going down Maxwell Street LOL that was 40 years ago! LOL
I don't know if they will get to know each other. I'm going to ask her in my next letter to her. I know they train together, I saw it on one of the bootcamp videos, from what I understand though, there isn't much talking, if any at all!
Hugs to you. My daughter arrived at the airport at 9:00 pm last night. She did not leave there until 10:30. She called before they went in the USO and once afterward. We did text off & on until she got on the bus. There were several times she said she could not text anymore, then 15 mins later another one would come. The call from RTC can at 11:30.
