Good morning JoAnn. How is Brian doing in his classes? Joe said that how he does on his test tomorrow will determine how much time he can spend with us. So far he is doing well. whew! Can't wait to go. Karen

JoAnn! Your note brought tears to mine and my husband eyes... thank you. And how were you able to meet Joe? Brian and him do not have class together. They must be friends?? You are so sweet to take pies to the guys :) I can't wait to go see him. It's my husbands and my Christmas present to each other. How much time did you get to spend with Brian? I am thinking that we will get Joe for a Saturday. How did you get Brian on Friday? From one shorty to the other, thank you :) Karen

Hi JoAnn, Joe seems to be doing well. He took a math test today and scored 2nd highest in the class. This is from a kid that didn't do well in high school or the university at all... so that is quite a feather in his cap. He told his brother that he wishes he could have done college on his own, but... he knew he needed a very strict environment, so now we have the navy. All these years, my husband and I thought we were strict, but unless we were like the military... Your son is not an MM, correct? Joe said he wouldn't be in his class unless he was an MM.
All in all, I think Joe is okay. I know he misses us. We love talking to him. He is very busy. Worries about breaking a rule... Have a great time with your son. I envy you :) Karen

Hi JoAnn, I think Joe starts on Tuesday... but I thought he was supposed to start last Wednesday also :) He said he has been 'briefing' all week. Re-hashing the same thing they already know. You are soooo lucky to be able to go see your son in two weeks. Did I see that you are taking two pies? I can't wait for Joe to come home for Christmas. Just being able to talk to him is awesome. Have a great weekend and go sell a house :) Karen

Joe sounds good. We think he is very happy. Even though he is a janitor right now :) I pray he is successful with this next step. School was really his cup of tea, so this program seems ominous to me. He did say that there is a lot of LARPing on campus during liberty. I didn't know what he was talking about. Do you?? It stands for live action roll playing. Kind of like the people that roll play medival times. Well they are roll playing vampires and vampire hunters!! I guess there were LARPers on the Oregon State Univ campus also. My other son mentioned how odd it would be to see a guy hiding in the bushes hunting vampires and he would recognize him from one of his classes :)

Java, Our last name starts with an "M"... similar to a "W", but upside down :) Joe said he has let a lot of guys use his phone. ONly a few of them have their phones with them. His roommate is Hall. Is that you by any chance?

Javajo50, Isn't it wonderful? Such a relief! Praying for the rest of us that have to keep waiting. Looking forward to meeting you at the grad and go.

Amen to that. When he was in High School, I hoped and prayed he would graduate so he could go in the Navy. Now 8 weeks of very very little contact. These guys deserve some big hugs.

Hello, thank yous so much for your reply. Yeah, my son is getting discouraged I think with all the IT. From his letters, it sounds to me like there are some not willing to work as a team, but instead want to lead everything. So, he asked for prayer for his whole division. I know it is hard on these recruits. Hopefully they can pull together and make great strides :)
Thanks so much for your prayers. What occupation is your son going into upon graduation?

Good morning. Sometimes it feels like I'm getting used to Joe being gone, but then I have "those moments"... I look forward to the day I can call him anytime I want to! That is the hardest part for me. Do you think we would be able to hang at the base on Friday? I wonder if they will fly out commercial or charter. And how do we find out??? Have a good day :)
