I put together a survival guide with links, diagrams, explanations, etc. I have been posting the welcoming message (previous post) on new comers personal pages. If you could keep the existence of the survival guide in mind and spread the word, I would really appreciate it. FTLW uses it often.  You can just copy the link and any info contained in the previous post and paste it on to any comments (in a discussion, withing a group, on someone's personal page, etc.). My son has just completed his 5 year commitment. Thank you for you son's service and you participation on this site.

Regards, BQB.

We have a Survival Guide for Navy For Moms Newbie (clickable link). You'll find everything you need to get started. Videos, PDF files of boot camp processing days, links to all the important groups plus tips on how to use this site. Keep in mind the videos and PDF files may take some time to download the first time you try it. It'll look like nothing is happening. Be patient. Best part is it'll be here on your very own page as a reference. Click the MY PAGE tab on above menubar to access your page anytime - you should do it at least once a day to see if you have any postings on your comment wall (like this one). Good luck.

Sorry.  I certainly didn't mean to ruffle feathers...just sharing our experience...don't want the post misunderstood so I will delete it.  Please accept my apologies for it...anyone who knows my intention on this board knows that it is NOT to cause problems...

Well, best to not say anything about us on RTC FB...but please bring some of their info from there to the N4Moms group.  Like I said, they usually have good info...but I have found their BattleStations info to not be quite as accurate.

Hi Sandy, On July 16 there is a concert called "Rockin for the Troops" at Cantigny Park in Wheaton. I have invited moms to my house for lunch and then we will go to the concert. Good chance for you to meet other Navy moms in the area. More information under "Events" at the top of the page. Hope you will join us! Pat

Good morning Sandy, We finally have sun with decent temperatures! You have been approved for "MAS We Ship Love". The reason we have shipping dates (May 23-27 this month) is that it increases the chance that their "goodies" will arrive at the same time instead of dribbling in. When they get a huge pile of love, it knocks their socks off!! haha!!
At 10:21pm on May 18, 2011, Pat L. in IL said…

OOPS! Forgot....you need to request to join "MAS We Ship Love". That is where the addresses are kept. Request to join and I will approve you as soon as I see it!!

Also, don't forget to put a note on the inside of the box with your email addy, so you can get a reply!

At 10:16pm on May 18, 2011, Pat L. in IL said…
Sandy, Saw your post on Molly's and you are exactly right!! Stuff the boxes as full as possible. Use lots of tape as these boxes have a rough trip. On the sides of the box, attach a "Molly's" sticker and if it is for a female use a marker and put that on the side too! Fill out your customs form and head to the post office!! Easy-peasy!!! LMK if you have any more questions. Pat
