Hi dougiesmom - Clayton called this afternoon about 3 to give the good news - I'm a Sailor Mom! He was so excited and very exhausted. Captain's Cup tomorrow. He said he would probably be cleaning the rest of the week lol
Hi, my son left from the Montgomery MEPS on 8/20. He is a YN also. Did your son leave out of Montgomery? What day? We have not gotten the letter yet, it looks like you got yours. If so what day did you get it?
If you are referring to The Rating Information Card for YN at https://www.cool.navy.mil/usn/enlisted/rating_info_cards/yn.pdf (If you get the security warning, it is safe to go there.) and if you have trouble in one browser, change computers and/or browsers.

Amy, I see you have changed your Username so that it no longer contains your full name; you also need to change the URL to this page. Make change 2 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link) to take care of that. (If you are using a Smart phone, you will need to switch to Desktop View to make this change.)
Also make change 3 while you are there so that this page is no longer open to EVERYONE (Anyone) with access to the web.
It is not a good idea to post a pic of your recruit every time you post, so also make change 4.
There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.
Another change that I recommend that is mentioned in change 1 is to change the ZIP Code to one that is not easily associated with your recruit.
Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty during PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend.
Thank you I am finding myself wondering what he is doing . He has never been any distance from me that I could not get to him . Now he is 10.5 hours away. Staying strong we are so proud of the choices he has made . Je is a yeomen for submarine.

Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty during PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend.
Those with a YN contract for subs will go to “A” School at Meridian first and then go to Groton for BESS, so join Sub Moms and GROTON, CT. SUBSCHOOL & "A" SCHOOL MOMS and check out Naval Submarine Base New London Facebook Page.
The Rating Information Card for YNS can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/usn/enlisted/rating_info_cards/ynss.pdf. (If you get the security warning, it is safe to go there.)
Welcome to Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). I look forward to sharing this journey with you. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) for information on what to expect and to help you prepare for PIR. Start with OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) and Arrival and What Happens at the RTC and read 1 or 2 pages a day and then go back to them as you need the info. Take care and blessings to you and yours.
