Hi thank you

Hi again! Thanks for getting back to me. I did do a little digging yesterday online and I know my son definitely gave me the wrong class number. The one he provided graduated on July 7th and I know that didn't happen! So yeah, maybe he is in 2304-2. That would make the most sense based on his starting date of May 17. I saw a comment though that he could have started Power School prep on that date and not graduate until December. I don't think that makes sense though because as far as I know he wasn't struggling at any point and never had extra study hours. Wouldn't it just be easier if the kid would respond to a text or pick up the phone when I called! I know they are all young men finding their independence for the first time, but there needs to be a balance with staying connected to their family. I think you are smart in booking everything with options to change or cancel up to the last minute. We may have to do the same. Thanks again for being there for me. Appreciate you!

Hi! I wanted to check in with you again and say hello and also ask you for some info that you may know. My son is in another streak communication silence for the past few months. Ugh! This boy drives me crazy! Anyways, when Power School started he gave me a class number 2302-2 and now I'm questioning if that is correct. I'm trying to track down the graduation date and am being told that that number already graduated. I know this isn't possible for him, so he must have provided the wrong number. Any chance you have any info to share. I've seen online that there is an invitation is sent for the Power School graduations, so I'm hoping that arrives in the mail soon. Making plans for the family to fly all the way from Maui is not a simple thing to do. Any help you can provide would be so appreciated. Hope all is well with you and your sailor and that you are enjoying your summer.

I'm going to try and hold off as long as I can. I'm sure he isn't purposefully ignoring all of us, but it'd still be nice to get some sort of communication happening. Miss that kid!

Glad you got to go on vacation. Hope you had a relaxing time! Thanks for the update on your sailor. Gives me a little hope. I have sent a few cards and letters. My other kids tell me I should stop bothering him as he's probably annoyed that I call and text every day. I'm on day 3 of my hiatus... don't know if I'll last but I'm trying. Not hopeful it will make a difference, but figured I'd listen to his sisters and see if I have any luck. Thanks for keeping in touch with me!

Checking in to hear the latest vicariously from T-track! After talking to my son in February, I've only since received one text. He wrote that he was busy standing watches 12 hours, cleaning 8 hours and barely sleeping for 4. It was his birthday last weekend, and he didn't respond to any of the family phone calls or texts. I know I shouldn't worry about him, but I do. How can he not have one minute to send a text? Ugh! This kid is going to put me in my grave! Thanks for listening...

Thanks for the update! Glad you finally heard from your boy. When will they learn that moms need to hear from their boys. I did watch the ceremony on youtube last week and also saw the still photos posted today. Nice to have proof of life! Thanks for the info on T-track too... good to know about the start date of Power School. Wonder if they'll all be on that same schedule. Maybe I'll find out if I ever hear from my son. Thanks again for the quick response. Appreciate it!

Hi again! Wanted to check in and see if you've spoken to your son since graduation. I can't seem to get my son to answer my texts or phone calls. I know he had 72 hours of liberty so I'm sure he didn't want to spend his first amount of free time talking to his mom! Anyways, do you have any insight on what their schedules are like during T-track? I keep trying to figure out what he's up to and what he's spending his time doing. Anyways, let me know if you have any insight. Would love to hear something!

Thanks for checking in. I’m doing well. I finally did get to talk to my son for about an hour last month as he remembered and called me on my birthday! Best present ever. I’m hoping that once he’s on T-track I’ll hear from him more often. Wish I could pop over for graduation next week, but going to wait and try to attend the power school one. My youngest daughter is home for spring break this week so we are enjoying time with her. Nice to hear from you!

Thanks for your comment in the group! I just realized that I had not sent you a friend request, so I wanted to make sure I did.

Hmm.. I wonder if the boys will know any solid answers before A school graduation. Guess we'll find out when we find out! My son is an ETN so maybe it's different for all the rates. This is all new to me.

Have you heard anything about the time between A school and Power school? When my son was home at Christmas he mentioned that he would have three months of T track. I was unsure if that was for everyone or just his division. Did you hear anything?

My son started in September. I think he is supposed to be done in March.

I laughed out loud when I read your post today about your Nuke school son. I am in the exact same boat as you. My son is in GC in A school too right now. He was home for Christmas then went back on the 31st. I too have had one brief text thread with him and nothing else. It's been over a month since I've heard a peep. I also know he's been heading to the mall or to Charleston on the weekends with friends. Even played golf yesterday! I wish I could offer some help. I just wanted you to know that I am in the exact same spot with my son. Frustrating to say the least. I even sent a Valentine's box of goodies and didn't even get a thank you! I'm here missing my son tremendously if you ever want to chat. Maybe together we can gang up on them!

I am so happy for you to be attending PIR!! If you haven't already, be sure to come join us in Beyond BC - We do most of our chatter in that group in the Comment Wall area, a lot of people just post occasionally, but we are always there willing to help answer any questions and then we post helpful information there, as I have not had a chance to add pages of information to the group yet.

It is just a good place to stay in community with other Navy Moms and loved ones.

I am glad you found the PIR groups!! Once he graduates or you receive the "I'm a sailor" call you may join Beyond BC - Navy For Moms (ning.com). It is sort of a catch all for anyone that wants to keep up with people after BC and you may or may not have other groups to join. We post information as questions are asked and just stay supportive of each other as a community of Navy family members.

From your post, I take it your SR has been at BC for a bit. Do you know about the PIR groups? I think B'sNukeMom just posted the links to those. We now just have them grouped by months, so you may join the one for the month your SR should graduate.

When is your SR's projected PIR?
