While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

All Hands Magazine's full length documentary "Making a Sailor": This video follows four recruits through Boot Camp in the spring of 2018 who were assigned to DIV 229, an integrated division, which had PIR on 05/25/2018.
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video:"Importance of Navy OPSEC."
**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).
**UPDATE 8/25/2022 - MASK MANDATE IS LIFTED. Vaccinations still required.
**UPDATE 11/10/22 PIR - Vaccinations no longer required.

Hi my name is cindy .my son is in the same division. My son was also sick when he first got to bootcamp.Are you worried about battlestation? I sure am stressed about the whole sit.
We live in Marion, Indiana, which is about 4 hours from Chicago. So, we will be driving there with my other three kids ages 11, 8, and 6. We are all so excited to go! I am glad they are going to be stationed in Great Lakes for A school as hopefully I will get to go and visit him again around Thanksgiving time for the weekend. We have farm animals though so it is sometimes hard to find people to take care of our animals. Is your son wanting to go FMF (deploy with marines as their medic)? Forgive me if I already asked you that. I lose track of conversations on here. :)
Thank you sooooo much for the prayers at Bible Study. I just keep praying, and praying! If you don't mind me asking, what is your son's last name. My son only seems to know the guys by their last names. I will ask him if they have met in my next letter. Glad you brought up the school work issue. I hadn't talked to my kids teachers yet, but really should get on the ball about that. LOL I had 3 part-time jobs going on this week and this week has just been a blur! Hello. I got a letter from Noah today as well. I was surprised to hear he has been sick. He has pnuemonia, but said he was starting to feel better after being on the antibiotics. So, now I am praying he will have enough strength and feel good enough to do well in Battle Stations. He never knows the first names of guys, only last names. We have been praying the same! I do want him to meet someone and build a friendship so they can support each other both in training and in their Christian life. My son has a real passion for evangelism, but felt this was where God was calling him. It is really nice talking to you. I hope to hear from you again soon! Thanks again for your prayers, I will be praying for your son as well!
Hello, I am glad your son sounded a little more positive. I appreciate the prayers for the recruits. I've been praying that Noah would meet someone who shares his faith in God that he can kind of hang out with and stuff in A school, maybe your son and Noah will become good friends. :) I am proud of all of these recruits. I can't believe it is only 15 more days . . . . WHOO HOOOO! It looks like their division will be doing Battlestations on September 8th according to a post I saw on here. That is only a week from today, so I will really be praying for these guys. Hope to hear from you soon!
Hello familymom, I haven't heard from my son in over 11 days either. Last time I talked to him he sounded a little discouraged and worried that he would get his graduation date set back. He said they were having to do a lot of IT and that their division had 55 violations in the Marlinspike. He said they were told they were the worst division at that since April . UGH! Maybe it is just a bump in the road. Don't want to be a discouragement to anyone, and understanding that they are going to have their down days as well as good days. I am hoping they can pull together and work as a team and surprise their RDC's. My son is also going to be staying at Great Lakes for A school as a Corpsman. He wants to go FMF. If they are in the same division, they probably know each other. Although my son says he really doesn't know anyone by first name, only last. What is your son saying about boot camp? So very glad to hear you heard from you son last Sunday. I did too :) It really does a mom good to hear their voices. I just got a letter today from my son and he said the RDCs changed up the writing day. Now they have 30 minutes to write on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so your letter is probably on it's way soon. It's getting exciting to know we are under 30 days till we see our boys!!! woo hoo!
The medical field...that sounds great! Did you get a call this afternoon from your son? I just talked to mine for 30 minutes. It sure does my heart good to hear his voice, that's for sure!
My son will be attending A school in Charleston, SC. His nuclear schooling program is for 2 years so I'm pretty happy about him being fairly close by for that long. We live in Georgia so Charleston is about a 5 hour drive from our house. I also only work 4 days a week which will allow me to spend long weekends with my son. What about your your son? Where will he be?
I will be a PIR for sure but will not make it to the meet and greet. My family is from Wisconsin and will be driving down for the graduation as well so I want to spend time with them when we arrive Thursday night. Were you thinking of going to the meet and greet?
Hi there familymom! Thanks for making me your friend. I have done the same as well. Have you received a call from your sailor yet? I got my call the other day and it was soooooo wonderful to hear Brian's voice. He is currently sick with a cold and laryngitis but he still sounded surprisingly well. Let me know how you think your son is doing so far. Also I work long days and don't have internet at work so I can only get on this site for a little while in the evenings. I do look forward to seeing you around when I am here. Hang in there familymom. It's great to know there's other mom's in my son's division :)
That link apparently has been removed since I posted to you. It looks like you figured out the Username change. To change the address to your My Page--go to Settings in the upper Right, then go to My Page in the upper left under My Settings. In the middle, find Address and change the words in the box to familymom. I would also suggest that you change your Privacy settings to Members or Just My Friends. I hope that helps.
