Too expensive to fly all of us and our youngest is in 4th grade so still in school. So instead, I am flying up his fiance so she can see him. He will be VERY happy with that! LOL Have a great day. I will let ya know if and when i get a letter.

Thanks. Yesterday was a very hard day. We had to put down our beloved boxer Sage. She was almost 9 and had cancer. Kyle picked her out as a small puppy and it she was so in love with Kyle, always by his side when he was home. I am not going to tell him until bc is over...besides I have cried enough for the whole family. :) I hope to get a letter this week and I think phone calls are happening in this week also. Of course, his will go to his fiance....but that is all good. I miss him and hope he is doing good.
Have you heard from Scott...praying he is doing good also. Thanks for the check up and stay in touch. Have a great day. You doing ok?

My husband and i are both 28 with a 2 year old son. So that is what i meant by an old man..haha.
no letter today. no call either. at this point i would be happy with anything! Miss him and i too write everyday,...i just hope they are recieving the letters, etc.
what job is your son going for? Andrew, my husband, is on subs, as an MM. A school is in CT, and I forget how long it is.

If you dont mind me asking, what "positive" things do you write to your son,...? I am really at a loss and just find my self telling him what happened that day....don't want to make all my letters boring. lol
Till next time...~navy wife~

Hi Diana,
My sons name is Jace and he is 24. He is a very nice young man. He was so ready to go. He was set to go on September 27 but he wanted to leave sooner so he went on "Rolling Start", I think that is what he called it. I hadn't really gotten use to the idea that he was really going until he called me from Portland and gave me his shipping date. I flew to Portland and helped him pack up his apartment and put things in storage. His older brother has taken his cat (and best friend) so that made it easier for Jace. It looks like his brother probably will have the cat forever because Jace does not think it will be feasible to keep him because of the travel etc. I am looking forward to meeting you at PIR.

Hi Diana,

Thank you for e-mailing me. I can't believe how many people I have met since my son left on 7-27-10. He is actually from Montana but was living in Portland for the last four years and decided to enlist in the Navy. Totally took me by surprise. I am waiting on pins and needles to receive my first letter from him. My sons name is Jace and he is a wonderful young man. I miss him so much. It probably is not as hard on me as a lot of moms because he had been living away from home already but he called me 2-3 times per day. I still wait for my phone to ring, but to no avail no ring. I have already made hotel reservations I hiope you are holding up okay.

Thanks for e-mailing me.
