OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Make at least change 3 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link) and change the Privacy Settings for this page from "Anyone" to "Members."

You may want to update your "A little about me:" section since that info has changed in the last four years.

Since you have a Sailor, you can change "Waiting to leave for Boot Camp" above to “Enlisted.”

If you get an error message, then look at the area/s in the error message and unclick all of the choices in the area/s and make choices closer to the question/s. Some choices may have changed since you joined.

There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

Where is your Sailor stationed? What vessel, if one? There may be groups I can direct you to.

Hi Ann,

I left EGF in 1986.  My maiden name is Carter and my parent's still live there. My husband is from EGF too.  Where are you from?  What brought you to EGF?  We will be in EGF over Christmas.
