All Hands Magazine's full length documentary "Making a Sailor": This video follows four recruits through Boot Camp in the spring of 2018 who were assigned to DIV 229, an integrated division, which had PIR on 05/25/2018.
Due to COVID there is no public PIR. The graduations are on Thursday, and the video of the graduation is posted on RTC's FaceBook on Friday at approx 3pm. Please keep in mind that a division may need to complete additional quarantine during training which will delay their graduation.
Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass isno longer needed to drive on to base for parking.
Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.
"I haven't received anything yet either.
I did get a phone call from my daughter on Tuesday because She needed additional references for her security clearance... It was a short call, but it was so wonderful to hear her voice!"
"Nora, did she tell you her PIR date?
My daughter left on the 16th also, flight was cancelled and rescheduled for the 17th so she didn't get to bc until the 18th. She said they were in holding for about 4 days so she hadn't even done her…"
"My daughter also left on April 16, and I received a one min phone call yesterday. It was very brief, but just enough to hear she was doing well and that she liked it! She said she had a chance to write and I should be getting a letter this week!"
"My son left on April 15th. He called his dad last night about 10 pm (EST). The call was quick. He said he sent a letter to us. I was so disappointed I didn't talk to him, but maybe it's better because I think…"
"Be strong Moms. My SR left April 02, we received the box shortly after, form letter by week 2, a letter a few days after and a phone call last Saturday. It was a relief to hear from him and he assured me he’s doing well. Hoping you all hear…"
"I am waiting for this letter ! for my first call was very disappointing. I wanted so very much to hear more from him, but if I could get the box and confirmation of a letter every chance he gets I will feel easier with this event.
I am glad to…"
BrendaH....y, I see you have changed your Username so that it no longer contains your full name. You also need to change the URL (address) to this page. Make change 2 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link) to take care of that. (If you are using a Smart phone, you will need to switch to Desktop View to make this change.)
Also make change 3while you are there so that this page is no longer open to EVERYONE (Anyone) with access to the web.
There may be other changes you need to make as wellsuch as changing "Thinking about joining" above to "At Boot Camp now" or "Enlisted", so read and consider each of the changes.
If you would like information on your recruit’s rating (job/occupational specialty) or field, then let me know the rating or field. There are groups for most specialties and/or "A" Schools and knowing that will help you to better plan for PIR weekend.
We ask that our membersnot use a last name or email address in their Username - even if it differs from their Sailor's - so please head to “Settings” on the main page right away to set your new Username (be creative!) and add a profile image (no last names visible) to complete your Profile. Then - and this is important! - read these Community Guidelines and this Operations Security (OPSEC) Checklist, for the safety and privacy of all our Sailors.
Then jump right in! Browse around the site and check out the groups and the information in their Discussion Forums.
Get a head start during boot camp by joining groups for, and learning about, your Sailor's occupational specialty and "A" School; and later your Sailor's duty station and/or Navy ship and homeport. You can also join groups for your own state, region or home town and interests from getting ready for deployment to care package ideas.
Please say Hi when you join a group, and feel free to ask any and all questions - everyone was new once, and there is no "dumb" question.
This site was created by the U.S. Navy just for you. We look forward to getting to know you and your Sailor.
Welcome to the NAVY family - we're so glad you're here!!
