For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Here's some more information:
The Expected timeline will look like this
Day 0 -- Travel, Arrival and "I'm Here" scripted phone call
Day 1-14 -- ROM (Restriction of Movement/ Quarantine-- Lots of studying and waiting)
Day 15-21 Arrive Onboard RTC and begin P-days (P-days- Initial Processing Days) including 2 days of P-hold (Weekend)
Day 21-- Complete P days. (Initial PFT & Run)
Day 22-- Begin training and mail form letter out. Look for it to arrive around 1-2 weeks later)
All of this is assuming no exposure to COVID with additional ROM
Training typically occurs Monday - Friday but we have heard rumors that Saturday’s are now training days as well.
Normal PIR will be 10 Fridays after departure from Home but it can be less by 1 but it can be extended by ???? (lots!!) It just depends on how many times they get caught in the “Ring of Fire” but do not get COVID. IF they get COVID, Once they are recovered they will not be removed from training again even if they are in the “Ring of Fire”. (so there is that small silver lining if kids get sick)
Phone Calls Home other than for the "I'm here" Call are
"I'm In ROM" (Expect a 2 week Delay)
"I'm out of ROM Here is my new PIR date and Div" (Ask for the address just to be safe but it is a Business call and not for chatting.
"I Need more Information" Also a Business call and not for chatting. They often have an RDC right there. Be sure to tell them you love them and ask for their Ship & DIV number if you get this call. We can help you find the address
"Hi Mom!!" (aka Proof of Life) These are the BEST calls. They are social calls that can be anywhere from 15 minutes to 60 minutes. These calls are earned and usually will come anytime after 5 weeks from departure. They can earn none, 1, 3 (Most common) or more! Answer all calls while your SR is in BC!!
and Finally "I'm a Sailor". They do not know we call it that so don't be surprised if they don't say that when they call. This is the final call before they are readied to leave for A School. Not all Sailors choose to make this call so if you don't get one don't freak out! No News is GOOD News!!
There are also calls that you don't ever want that are to inform you of injury, illness or separation but I won't dwell on those.

we are glad that you are here. When you join the Boot Camp for Moms please come and introduce yourself. You will scroll all the way down the page until you get to a box called the comment wall. that is where we ask questions and talk to the other moms on here.
Sorry to hear that you missed that phone call it sounds like he needed more information.
Did he just leave today? If so, please keep your phone on you at all times and that ringer on loud so you won't miss his first call. It usually comes late in the evening and the call is scripted letting you know that your loved one made it there.

Join this group for boot camp moms, where you'll also find a group for your Pass in Review (graduation) date; and this one for PIR Reference Information.
Get a head start during boot camp by joining groups for, and learning about, your Sailor's occupational specialty and "A" School; and later your Sailor's duty station and/or Navy ship and homeport. You can also join groups for your own state, region or home town and interests from getting ready for deployment to care package ideas.
Please say Hi when you join a group, and feel free to ask any and all questions - everyone was new once, and there is no "dumb" question.
