OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please do read OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) and make at least changes 3 and 4 and the change to "Enlisted."

Join PIR 07/17/2015 TG 36 - 7 Divisions (239-242, 814, 815, and 936) to connect with others with loved ones training with your recruit.  There is a discussion within PIR 07/17/2015 TG 36 - 7 Divisions (239-242, 814, 815, and 936) for Division 936. I also invite you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) there. Take care and blessings to you and yours.

Don't forget to make the changes below.

The Page, 800 and 900 Divisions, within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will be of interest to you since you have a recruit in a performing division. I believe that Division 936 is Sticks/Flags.

Since you have a recruit at the RTC, you can change "Waiting to leave for Boot Camp" above to "Enlisted." You can make that change on the same page when you change the ZIP Code.

It's not a good idea to post a pic of your recruit every time you post. See change 4 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link).

Also make change 3 while you are there so that this page is no longer open to EVERYONE (Anyone) with access to the web.

There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

Another change that I recommend that is mentioned in change 1 is to change the ZIP code to one that is not easily associated with your recruit.

You may want to check out Mom's of Daughters 2, Mom’s of Navy Daughters, and Women in the Navy.

I also invite you to join, or at least check out, Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and PIR Reference Information. Once you know your recruit’s PIR date and/or division number, watch in Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and/or at http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/groups-listed-by-pir-date and join the group for that once it has been created. There will be a lot of great information and support for you in those groups. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) and Discussions within the groups. Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what is happening, but you will also want to check out the other Pages in all of the groups.
