OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. There are now tickets issued, and there are no longer parking passes for PIR.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

Since you have a Sailor, you can change "At Boot Camp now" above to “Enlisted.”

If you get an error message, then look at the area/s in the error message and unclick all of the choices in the area/s and make choices closer to the question/s. Some choices may have changed since you joined.

Click on OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) and the Page will open in a new window. Read the Page and follow the directions at the bottom to make change 3 (see the words in bold) to change "Anyone" to "Members" so that this page is no longer visible to EVERYONE (Anyone) with access to the web. Don’t forget to click the “Save” button at the bottom.

There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

Hi Ruby,

Were you able to find another flight? I believe some airlines are adding flights again. I had 2 cancellations but found one for tomorrow. Flying into Milwaukee since we’re staying north of Great Lakes. I’m hoping you find a flight! If not, I sent you a friend request, maybe we can get in touch with your sailor and do FaceTime or something?

PS:  Yes they do show it on line, there’s a Facebook page and a direct link

Since your recruit has "A" School or training in GL, then you will want to join Great Lakes A School Q&A and GL A-school moms. You can also check out the Training Support Center (TSC) Great Lakes Facebook Page.

You will be able to enjoy extra time with your Sailor following PIR. Plan to leave late Sunday or on Monday if you are able to do that. (See PIR Day and Liberty during PIR Weekend.)

When you know what rating (job) he has a contract for or if he has a contract for AECF or E-PACT or S-PACT, then let me know. I will have more info for you.
