My son leaves on the 23rd of August, too!  It does seem that after so many months of waiting, it's coming very soon.  I hope he's ready, and we are, too!

There isn't an order form really. you just send me the list of things on the email I sent you. Let me know if you didn't receive that message. It should be in your inbox on the top right side of your page. I will send it again now just in case you didn't get it.

You sis in law lives here? Is she complaining about the heat too? LOL. I'm from Mass originally, only here for 6 years. It feels like I moved 3 feet from the sun.

Whatever info you need, I will certainly do my best to get for you. I'll inbox you my name so you can find me on FB too. I still haven't gotten a phone call yet. I'm ready to slap him when I see him, just for making me wait. Steven set up his direct deposit the day before he shipped off. He did all of his paperwork then. In his letter he said he was in a great division, that everyone worked as a team. I'm grateful for that. He's actually doing very good. Div 350, I'm guessing the 2 are brother divisions. Where is he shipping to after PIR? He goes to Groton for Sub school. From what it seems like, it depends on where your A school is. I haven't sealed today's letter yet. I can ask him how he found out about liberty. He'll probably get that before he picks up a phone and calls me. I'm so excited for you that you did hear from him!!!!

Good morning!  Yes, it was so nice to hear my son's voice.  I so hope they can earn another call before the "I am a sailor" one right before PIR.  My son also said they were struggling to work as a team but that it was starting to come together.  Everything I have read says that weeks 4 and 5 see great strides in that area and they become close and start working hard for one another.  He passed all of the physical testing but the sit ups by just a few but thinks he will have it next round. He did say he has added 3 inches to his waist!  At 6 feet tall and 125 pounds he was looking forward to bulking up!  Our boys will be headed to separate coasts for A school.  Mine will be at the DLI (Defensive Language Institute) in Monterey, California for CTI (Cryptology Technical Interpretive).

Actually, he is still on this "ship" at RTC, Great Lakes. His PIR is next week Friday the 23rd.  He will then be going to Groton, CT for A-school as a STS (sonar technician submarine).  He says that he will not actually be on active duty for likely another year or so.

Hello SheilaD.  My son is on the USS Kersarge, ship 11, but he is in division 317.  What is your son specializing in?
