Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

We are all in different phases of our daughter’s Naval careers - from newbies to those whose daughters have been in for several years - from officer to enlisted!!! We support all our sailor girls and each other as well. Not just during the Bootcamp days but the weeks and months following, as they go off to school, first duty station, or first deployment. The first few weeks are the hardest thou of no communication. The Navy is training us as well for when our Sailors go out into the fleet.

Hi there! How brave of your daughter! What did her big brothers think their little sister going into the Navy?! My son came to us his junior year and told us that he wanted to join the Navy. I didn’t know what to think at the time and I was mostly thinking about his safety. Ryan enlisted in February and it just felt like August would never come. The last two weeks before he left he was like dang it feels like every day is my birthday! I wanted to make every day special and I’m sure you felt the same way. It felt like every day was floating away! Ugh :)
I’m not on Facebook but Great Lakes RTC has a Facebook page and BC posts pictures from time to time. I’m hoping that one day soon I’ll see his face even if he does wear a mask :)
You’re children sound amazing! I bet you are very proud!
My middle child is my daughter and she is 16, a junior and a cheerleader. She got her drivers license and her first job with the city which she starts next week. Yay! My youngest is 13 and he says he would love to go into the Air Force. We’ll see!

Be sure to introduce yourself on your other groups, even though your daughter is in BC, you can at least share where you are at in your Navy journey - Yes you are on a Navy journey, right along with your daughter - As moms we are learning things also to help us navigate these new waters.

Stephanie0725 - I had a notice that you had joined BC Mom group but was not able to welcome you at that time. I am glad you jumped right on and introduced yourself. I was going to give you the link for Moms of Daughters 2 but I see you found them. That is also a great group to be a part of and some of the moms in BC group currently are also a part of that group.
We refer to the emotional roller coaster ride around here. Sometimes the ride is easy and other times it is hard, but you are always welcome to share as much or as little as you like.

Hi! I feel the same way so what was comforting for me was to dive right into Pinterest and hoard navy information :) and Navy mom goodies and apparel... although sometimes that helps me get a good cry in. His favorite color is purple and so I’ll wear the color purple from time to time. Yesterday I received my first “letter” From him which was the form that gave me his mailing address which was 28 days after I got that “I am here call.”
well I’m headed back to class. I saw that you were an educator! I am a PE aid which is super crazy holding PE online. Talk to you soon

Head to “Settings” on the main page right away to add a profile image (no last names visible, please) and complete your Profile. Then - and this is important! - read these Community Guidelines and this Operations Security (OPSEC) Checklist, for the safety and privacy of all our Sailors.
Then jump right in! Browse around the site and check out the groups and the information in their Discussion Forums.
Join this group for boot camp moms, where you'll also find a group for your Pass in Review (graduation) date; and this one for PIR Reference Information.
Get a head start during boot camp by joining groups for, and learning about, your Sailor's occupational specialty and "A" School; and later your Sailor's duty station and/or Navy ship and homeport. You can also join groups for your own state, region or home town and interests from getting ready for deployment to care package ideas!
Please say Hi when you join a group, and feel free to ask any and all questions - everyone was new once, and there is no "dumb" question.
