My son is almost ready for graduation. I have spoken to him four times since leaving for boot camp and he sounds better with each phone call. He is definitely ready to move on to the next phase which is A school. He will be in Connecticut for his A school so this is good news because we are from New York City.
This experience for him was not an easy adjustment. He had so much to talk about but so happy he had passed all test this far.
Word of advise to any for…

I received my first letter and phone call from my son. He actually cried which is something I haven't seen him do in years. He had lots to say. It was like someone gave me back my heart that's been missing for 3 weeks. He says it's hard but he sounds like he's dealing. Can't wait for graduation so I can lay my eyes on him and wrap my arms around him. This time it will feel different. I'll never take those hugs for granted ever again.

Today is April 7th and my son's for letter just came. I was so excited to see it my stomach was in knots. It has all information you will need for graduation and if you want to write letters along with some other valuable information. It feels good to finally receive this information!

You are very welcome. Please do make the changes I left for you, especially changes 2 and 3, and I hope to see you in Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones).
Since your recruit is in one of the last two regular divisions in the TG, expect the "I'm a Sailor!" call only a day or so (probably Wednesday) before PIR. Write to your recruit and ask when Battle Stations-21 (BST) will be so you will know for sure when to expect the call.
You can delete the extra postings of the same Blog by going to the extra ones and clicking on Options in the upper right and then clicking on "Delete Blog."
SwalondaMcc...J....s, I see you have changed your Username so that it no longer contains your last name; you also need to the URL to this page. Make change 2 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes change to Your Profile) (clickable link) to take care of that. (If you are using a Smart phone, you will need to switch to Desktop View to make this change.)
Also make change 3 while you are there so that this page is no longer open to EVERYONE (Anyone) with access to the web.
There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.
Another change that I recommend that is mentioned in change 1 is to change the ZIP Code to one that is not easily associated with your recruit.
Join Sub Moms and GROTON, CT. SUBSCHOOL & "A" SCHOOL MOMS and check out the Naval Submarine Base New London Facebook Page.
Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty during PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend.
What is your recruit’s rating (job/specialty) or field going to be? I have more info for you.
Join PIR 05/20/2016 TG 28 - 10 Divisions (189-194, 812-814 and 928) to connect with others with loved ones training with your recruit.
I also invite you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) there.
Take care and blessings to you and yours.
