Ship 13 Div 158

I just recieved my form letter, and my son Logan is in Ship 13 Div 158. Is there anyone else whose kid is in this div?

Scary First Phone Call

Posted on February 22, 2010 at 4:01pm 1 Comment

Ok, I finally recieved THE phone call, and was really taken back by it. When I finally talked to my son, he really sounded scared. This is his first time to leave the nest, so I attributed his fear to the lonliness he must be feeling. Is this normal, and how did other parents cope with the feeling of utter helplessness? His dad and I both encouraged him to find the strength inside himself to face each challenge head on. Was this the right thing to do for him?

Question:  You formed the group DIV 270 (PIR 8/26/2011), originally it was PIR 8/26/2011.  A group for the whole PIR group is more helpful than one for just one Division.  Why did you change it?  It would be helpful if the title goes to PIR 8/26/2011 TG-41 (Divisions 270-?) for now and then rename it when the RTC posts the Divisions next week.

Got a call last night and it was sooo good to talk to him. He is doing great, but had to be hospitalized during the first week due to exhaustion (unable to sleep for 4 days straight) and a sprained ankle. Now everything is going good and he talked about being made Weapons PO for the division. Does anyone know what that entails? I could hear the pride in his voice, and am happy that things have turned for the better. Hope everyones phone call is as uplifting.

I just got confirmation from recruiter that my son is Ship 13 Div 158 and I have yet to get a letter or a phone call. The recruiter did say that the first week was "a wake up call" but that it got better and Navy was much easier than any other division so let's hold onto that. I want to join this group since I will be with you all at graduation.
