All Hands Magazine's full length documentary "Making a Sailor": This video follows four recruits through Boot Camp in the spring of 2018 who were assigned to DIV 229, an integrated division, which had PIR on 05/25/2018.
Due to COVID there is no public PIR. The graduations are on Thursday, and the video of the graduation is posted on RTC's FaceBook on Friday at approx 3pm. Please keep in mind that a division may need to complete additional quarantine during training which will delay their graduation.
Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass isno longer needed to drive on to base for parking.
Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.
Does anyone know anything about the A school in Mississippi? Our granddaughter, a new SR, is suppose to be going there, for Seabee training. If this is the right state even, can anyone tell me…Continue
joj - if you want, I will call you or send you an e-mail. My e-mail is firstname.lastname@example.org. I am going to Gulf Shores this weekend with my sister and her family. keep in touch - I will be glad to call or pick her up if she gets to the gate. We will figure something out. How old is she - what activities was she involved in in high school?
Try this - go to members on the tool bar, then Gulf Coast mom. When you see my profile, under it will be an option to send a message. I think this is how you can do it. It will be just between me and you. If that doesn't work, we'll go to plan B. Going to bed before long, so will check back in the morning.
Joj - I do not have access to the base, my son is in the Navy, but is stationed in Groton Ct. If you send me a private message, I will be glad to call you or your granddaughter. I would love to show her around the coast. I am sure she will find someone before long to hang around with - I can't imagine being away from my family in a strange area. Is she also from Indiana? I was born in Indianapolis, and graduated from high school there, but have lived here for about 35 yrs. I am a school nurse at Long Beach Middle School. We have a lot of students with parents stationed at the Seebee base. My neighbor is retired from the Seebees and have a cheife living several houses down. I took brownies when they moved in, but have not seen much of them since and that has been over a year ago. Let me hear back from you .
Hi, Welcome! Have you found the answer to your questions about carry -on bags? I doubt there is a limit (because they really didn't bring that much to GL) - or if they have to pay if they have papers to their next "duty station."
joj, Welcome aboard N4Ms. There is a lot of support here and information too. I see you found some groups close to you. With BC ahead, the support will definitely help. My sailor was in for almost 4 years before I discovered N4Ms. Wish I had known about them in the beginning. Sure would have helped. Did you read OpSec and how to set your profile and so forth? Very good information. Blessings,
Hi "JOJ," and welcome to Indiana Moms! I'm the administrator for the group, so if you have any questions, please ask. My son is a Nuke MM serving on the submarine USS ALABAMA, based out of Bangor, WA. He's been in for 4 years.
If you're near Indy (or willling to drive), there's a monthly informal dinner in Avon (on the west side) which meets on third Mondays. Click Sep 20 on the Events calendar (right-hand column) for those details. From time to time, we also have regional gatherings in various parts of the state.
Jump in with any questions or comments you may have. I think you'll find we're a nice bunch of folks and always willing to lend an ear to listen or a shoulder to cry on. Hugs! k.
