I am not sure how active the group is that you are on but the one above is what I am active on.  I just posted a comment on ShipOfDoodles page but she moderates comments (which is good) but I can't copy and paste it.

Most of what your sailor will need at GC (Goose Creek) for A school they can buy at the mini Nex or large Nex. - I would definitely bring his favorite running shoes, one pair of civilian lounge type clothes that he may change into in his room, a few pair of favorite underwear, some extra black socks, maybe white for running ??, a Kindle or small Tablet, and cell phone / charger if that did not stay in GL. Otherwise, wait till he gets to GC and lets you know what he might want you to ship to him.

Since you have a Sailor, you can change "At Boot Camp now" above to “Enlisted.”

If you get an error message, then look at the area/s in the error message and unclick all of the choices in the area/s and make choices closer to the question/s. Some choices may have changed since you joined.

Divisions 409 and 410 are brother divisions and train together and will have Battle Stations-21 (BST) together, so look for others with loved ones in either division. Write to your recruit and ask when Battle Stations-21 (BST) will be so you will know when to expect the "I'm a Sailor!" call.

There is info on your recruit's ship and more in Ship/Division--How it Works.

Join NUKE moms; you may also want to check out Nuke A School FAQ and Nuke School Charleston. You may want to check out these facebook pages: Naval Support Activity Charleston, SC and Naval Nuclear Power Training Command Facebook page.

The Rating Information Card for NF can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/usn/enlisted/rating_info_cards/nukepower.pdf. (If you get the security warning, it is safe to go there.)  https://www.thebalancecareers.com/navy-enlisted-rating-descriptions-nuclear-field-3345847 has some good info for you.

Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. Plan to leave late Saturday or on Sunday.See PIR Day and Liberty during PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend.

Your Sailor may have Prototype in Ballston Spa, NY; if so, join Moms/Dads/Families with Nukes in Ballston Spa, NYat that time. Some stay in Charleston.
