FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I  agree with TNPoliceWife.   I thought I could handle my son, Tom,  leaving  the same day that your daughter left for the Navy, but I have to admit that I fell apart, but not in front of him.   I tried to put on a good face for my son, but it was the such a great sense of loss that I have not felt since my parents died.   I know that he will do well, but there is a great void now for me.

Hi Kelly, thanks so much for the kind words. I just dropper Ashley off at MEPS 30 minutes ago, she leaves for bc tomorrow. I will video that too... I gotta tell you... you think you'll be OK, but as soon as you get in the car all that strength just washes away LOL.... I cried all the way home..... Im sure tomorrow is going to be worse.  Don't hesitate to reach out if you need a friend... :) and I can't wait to see you sons video too!!

Wow, I just watched your video.. I cried. I know I sound like a big baby but my son leaves March 28th for bc. I will be standing in your shoes very soon.I will also film him. I dont think I could be more proud of him and all of his generation doing this.

Welcome sailermom... I know this is the 'important' one... but I wanted to document every single moment of this wonderful journey for her. I'll post the one when she leaves on the 9th of March as well! Stay tuned!
