Hello! Thought I'd start a new thread, looks like no one has been active on this one for a while. Any other family members out there with a loved one that is already an MC or future MC? Any words of wisdom for a mamma whose all over the emotional map? I've heard really positive things about the MC rating and am so excited that my son chose this path, I think he will be great at it.

My son in an MC. It's a great rate...he's not re-enlisting and when his tour is up in april 2021, he will have been in Sasebo Japan the whole time. Not very exciting but great for my momma heart. There's a facebook group once he gets to A school. There's not a whole lot of activity there but I bet you can get some information. Boot camp is the worst for us moms. Once he gets to A school, it should be smooth sailing! Navy Mom Hugs!
I'm glad your son likes it! Thank you so much for the information - the more you know right?! How long has he been in? Have you been on this site for a long time? Man, I'm like 20 questions lady - sorry lol
Welcome!! This rate is small but that makes them a very close group. Your son will make some his best friends in A School and I have no doubt that they will be life long friends. My son just hit his two year mark with 3 to go. He is on the USS George Washington in Virginia and loves it. His ship won't go out while he is there but in Virginia he has the chance of seeing a large majority of his MC friends. You should join the Navy FB page for moms of MC's. That is where I get most of my answers and most of my support for this crazy ride. Boot camp will be emotionally brutal for you and your son. Just know it is short lived and he will get through it. So will you!
