I received my first letter from my son today! I was so excited when I opened the mail box and seen his letter. I didn't even get through the first sentence and the years were flowing. He's doing well and seems like he's adjusting being away from home, although he listed a few things he misses. He said he's eating healthy which made me chuckle a bit. It's only been a couple of weeks but feels like forever...He mentioned how excited he was to get his uniform and see his name stitched on it, he sounded so proud. I'm one proud mom too!! I'm so looking forward to the next letter!

Thank you, yapackers. It sounds like it took a long time for I you to get something as well. It is hard. I keep telling myself it’ll come tomorrow and the next tomorrow, etc. Hopefully it will be soon.

It did Donita & though I'm a patient person not as much when it comes to wanting to hear from my child.. this is the most challenging things we've ever done & I'll get to go through it again in July when our son leaves for boot camp. Stay strong & positive!

Agreed. It is the toughest thing I’ve been through as well. I haven’t been very patient either. It’s quickly becoming all consuming the longer it takes to hear from her. Bless your heart. Son and daughter? Wow. That is tough. Thanks for the encouragement. It definitely has helped. You and everyone have been so kind. I’ll let you know when we hear something.
