Hey everyone- my daughter left for boot camp October 2nd. I missed a call from her last Friday telling me that her graduation is December 13th. I feel like the worst mom in the world for missing her call. Really didn’t expect her to call so soon but…Continue

Susan, I attended Sarge's Meet & Greet and enjoyed it. My daughter's then BF won a challenge coin for dancing. He will tell you to sit up in the balcony for the best seat but I'll amend that. Sit in the highest seat on the main floor. We sat in the balcony and with only one staircase onto the drill deck it took FOREVER to get to my daughter. Lesson learned for me. Sarge also told us to avoid the line at the main gate by parking at the train station. Nope, they came and cleared us out and then we had to wait in a longer line at the gate. Sarge means well but he was a little out of touch with some info. Just think it through and use your best judgement.
Haha haven't told her this information yet. Really only 2 weeks into this lol but knowing my child she wouldn't tell a soul...She is a secret keeper
Oh I now the PIR date so reservations and all the extra stuff for parents the day before with the meet and great with Sarge will be fun..I hope? Is it?
Yes I am...I think lol am really just wandering around this site reading etc. as I am pretty new to this, just reading everything I can. I know that getting past the 2 week mark is huge...Now on to Marlinspike. :)
Susan I did about the same thing! Are you also a member of boot camp moms? They have groups that are division based and the admins do an incredible job of keeping you up to speed. I knew about when to expect a call from my daughter because other mom's in the division would start posting when they got calls. All helpful info.
At 16 days you're close to 1/4 way through boot camp! Hooray! Hang in there momma. What's she going to do after boot camp?
Good Morning all its 01/29/2020. Its been 16 days since my daughter was sworn in. I've heard from her 2 times for reasons can't discuss but the second phone call was not 100% scripted. I've learned approximately where she is at in the process by watching the videos on this site. I watch 1 or more daily to get a really good idea what she is going through so I can relate and be upbeat for her. So far shes passing first round :) Anyone else feel like they are obsessed? lol
Orleander, I do have my locations mixed up. Thought one of our Navy Moms lived near Phoenix. Yes, I will be in Vegas the last week in March and first week in April. We will have our Sailor with us also!! Will make contact with you then.
Anna, maybe our traveling will cross paths soon. I have been enjoying Arizona a lot. Got 3 more weeks here before we head to Palm Springs.
Oleander,
We are still planning to come see you in early May, wish it could be when you are there bbcregular!!!
Hi everyone, just checking in. Leaving Quartzsite, AZ for Canyon Vistas, AZ tomorrow. Oleander, I think that is within driving distance to you. We will be there for 3 weeks so maybe we can meet up.
Quartzsite has been great. A small town with less than 4000 people explodes in Jan to more than 2.5 million rock and RV enthusiasts. Looking forward to our next stop to hike Superstition Mountain and visit the other interesting attractions.
Daughter has a car that connects to her phone so everyday after work she gives us a call during her drive home. It is only for about 10 to 20 minutes but we are able to stay up to date. To all you moms still going through boot camp, it does get better. My girl has been in for over 4 years now. The time flies. Seems like it was only a few months ago when I was the one needing all of you to vent my frustrations. Thanks to all for being there.
Praying that you all hear from your sailors this week.
sdred,
So sorry you had to do all this back and forth but sometimes that's just how things go!!! I'm glad you got it all accomplished!!! Welcome to the roller coaster!!! Let us know when you get to hear from her!!!
