Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Oleander, my daughter needed someone like yours!
Susan, there are probably 1000-1900 that graduate every Friday. You can watch it live on-line every week. You may wish to do so in advance just to give you an idea. I watched it last week after the gate incident held up PIR for an hour or so. I still cry when I see those doors roll up and then when they sing Anchors Aweigh....sniff

My child always wore makeup but in preparation for not wearing any at bootcamp she went down to the very basics which I was grateful for :) how many graduate in a class? Is there that many people you need binoculars? Lol

Oleander, I wish I'd have thought of that. I did make eye contact with my girl (yes even from the balcony). She kept blinking her eyes at me. I thought it was some signal that I didn't understand. Turns out she'd bought mascara to wear at PIR and was batting her eyes at me. Child has never willingly put on make up before, I was floored. PS that was probably the last time she's ever worn it too.
